Well, they did it in Pinocchio. So it does happen. But I agree that it doesn't make sense.

There's buzz going around saying her dress looks like prosciutto. Now I can't unsee it. ;)

Also, the film is still in post-production so what we saw in the teaser trailer are in no way any official scenes or the final look of the film. Teaser trailers are known to contain footage of cut scenes and takes as these teasers are created before the final cut of a film is even completed. The film hasn’t even had any test screenings yet so there’s still tons of work being done to it before those start happening AND more work will be done after they receive test audience notes/comments.
^Assuming that is fan made, as the film isn't using Hilferty's designs (as pictured).

But at least they gave Ariana better hair & eyebrow colors.

Vocal pedagogy isn't a matter of opinion, btw."
Whatever you want to speculate, it did not sound good and I'm not alone in thinking that. If it was a vocal choice it didn't sound very good to me and I'm surprised anyone thought that was intentional. Even if it was it sounded painful."
I don't think it sounded painful at all, and i'm not alone in thinking that...

Maybe that's the best she could do and they used it.

Why is "pedagogy" the right term here? In general, it refers to teaching methods, not to the analysis of how educated individuals perform.

I can agree with that.
I also looked at the Vanity Fair photo posted by BrodyFosse123 (I even enlarged it to get a better look). I feel like there's a strong possibility that Grande's hair and make-up styling was made as a business decision to appeal to China's cinema market.
I didn't know that was a "thing" until I heard a story on one of my NPR podcasts. If you are in doubt, feel free to search, "movies cater to asian market" (w/o the quotes). Or, you might listen to/read the NPR story here: Hollywood relies on China to stay afloat. What does that mean for movies?

I can't wait. Do you think the film soundtrack will be a hit with Ariana Grande on it. Wouldn't it be great to have Broadway songs back in the top ten......
"The Wicked trailer looks like an early aughts era Skittles commercial."
–– the eloquent words of Broadway vet David Krumholtz
Is it likely that the soundtrack will also be released in two parts? We won't get to hear the act two songs until part 2 of the film is released along with the part 2 soundtrack?
Exactly. I was informed there will be a soundtrack for each part and a Deluxe Edition featuring both film soundtracks, which will be released alongside the Part 2 soundtrack. Each soundtrack is slated for release a week before each film.

All the criticism on this post is just pure drama from the same people that will be present at the midnight showings days before the actual release date.
It never fails!!
Just saying!!
As a lifelong Oz fan that only got into Wicked because of it’s roots, and is highly critical of most adaptations of this material…
…I really cannot wait for these films to be released. This trailer beat my expectations and I’m really intrigued to see how they expand and evolve the story we’ve known for the last 20 years!
