What's your broadway actor moment off the stage?
Meaning in a non musical movie, commercial, etc.

Mine:
Joanna Gleason in "The Wedding Planner" they are all horse-back riding and Joanna is singing badly and her daughter says to shut up. Then she yoddles(sp?) and makes Jennifer Lopez's horse go wild. LMAO!!!!!!!

Right now, it's Ryan Duncan in the CelebReality promos on VH1. What a treat!

Adam Pascal's role in 'School of Rock' amuses me greatly. More for just being there unexpectedly then for his performance, admittedly.

and I love Anthony Rapp in 'Adventures in Babysitting' because he's so young, and his character is so different from anything I've seen or heard him in on stage.

Anthony Rapp is fantastic in A BEAUTIFUL MIND.

Jackie Hoffman is absolutely brilliant in GARDEN STATE.

Joanna Gleason being a raging bitch in BOOGIE NIGHTS.

Billy Crudup in BIG FISH.

Billy Crudup- I forgot about him! He blew me away in 'Big Fish'. And, really, Anthony Rapp was amazing in everything.

I think you meant to say Donna Murphy was wasted in Spider-Man 2. Argh. Don't get me started on how much the women in that movie ended up pissing me off.

Donna Murphy had much better moments in "Star Trek: Resurrection", for example...But what I absolutely LOVED was her one perfect scene in "Door In The Floor" where she played the frame shop owner. Brilliant.

I third Jackie Hoffman in GARDEN STATE. I could not stop laughing!!!

Always loved Bebe Neuwirth's indie movie, TADPOLE - she's great in it. The dinner table scene after she and the boy sleep together is hilarious!

Anthony played Bender, and was amazing as usual, although I don't think he had very much to do. Only two actual scenes where he had more than one line- of course, I haven't watched that movie in a while, so I may be wrong.

Of course mine has to be a Merman moment:

A mid 70's Canada Dry commercial where the Merm is sashaying through Shubert Alley singing (to the tune of "Ain't She Sweet")
It's not too sweet

Anthony Rapp's prickish-ness in Road Trip kills me every time.

I also love Chita's mini-cameo in Chicago.

This is about as far off the stage as you can get but it falls into my favorite Broadway actor moment.

Fred MacMurray (4 B-way shows) was camping with his wife and twins and the truck carrying their camper had problems SO he pulled into my nextdoor neighbors mechanic garage in our small town! The neighbor called us to come down and meet him and when we did I ended up in the newspaper with him!LOL Really nice guy!!!
