LIFE OF PI
(PM me if you've read it)
Oh its like a secret "Life of Pi" club...I feel so left out...
The Da Vinci Code, and I just recently finished Angels & Demons.
We have to read three novels and write summaries in English next year, and I'm attempting to make my future teacher believe I didn't really read the books, (because I don't know anyone else at my school who will voluntarily read at that level), then write amazingly detailed summaries.
I'm currently reading two:
The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova
Julie & Julia by Julie Powell (this book will be out in the end of September - I have an advance reader copy. It's a totally great true story about a woman who decides to cook all the 500-something recipes in Julia Child's cookbook Mastering the Art of French Cooking in one year. She lives in a small apartment in Long Island City with her cats, dog, snake, and husband. This book is HILARIOUS!!! It's going to be big when it comes out - everyone should read it!)
"I just finished The Golden Compass, by Philip Pullman. It's the first one book in the trilogy called His Dark Materials. I'm axiously awaiting my copy of The Subtle Knife to come in!"
I LOOOOOVE thoe books! I cried so hard whne I read the third one.
cturtle: you're reading Life of Pi!? I'm reading Life of Pi! such a small world
The Other Hollywood: The Uncensored Oral History of the Porn Film Industry by Legs McNeil (the guy who wrote Please Kill Me: The Uncensored Oral History of Punk)...it's fascinating!
The Other Hollywood
Harry Potter and The Order of the Pheonix (5). Just refreshing my memory before numero seis comes out. Yay!!
Angels in America (for the 75,000,000th time) and my Driver's Handbook so I can finally get my permit. Whatta slacker.
Re-reading "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho.
mominator- I love the Shopoholic series!! Totally hilarious and addictive. British chick-lit is my guilty pleasure.
'Gone With The Wind' by Margaret Mitchell...loving it.
I just finished reading Michael Cunningham's brilliant new novel, Specimen Days, and am now alternating between The Man in the Flying Lawn Chair, a collection of writings by George Plimpton, and Elizabeth Kostova's The Historian.
The Historian
Ted Chapin's book "The Making of FOLLIES"...I think that's the title. Fascinating.
I'm only 100 pages into The Historian, but I like it so far.
Swing! by Rupert Holmes

A Clockwork Orange is a tough one.
I'm not reading anythign now, but last weekend I read "Boy Still Missing" and "Point Furry". The first was good, the latter one sucked. It was soooo bad. If you like books without a point, plot, or climax, this one's for you.
It is but I'm enjoying it (always odd to say that about something disturbing though). I already know a lot of the russian words in it so that broke down the initial barrier. I just finished part one yesterday so I still have a little ways to go.
Angels and Demons and Audition by Michael Shurtleft, both of which I'll halt in mid-sentence if I have to on the 15th.
