Does it truly save a significant amount of time and energy chopping one letter off of every other word? And what is it being saved for?
Sorry. I'm making alphabet soup. I didn't think anyone would mind if i borrowed a few letters from that particular post.

Um, HELLO?? Wilson Phillips!
Why, the Spice Girls, of course. Such talent! They could tell you what they really, really wanted on such a winter's day.
There was a show off Broadway last year and I interviewed the woman who played Mamma Cass. She is incredible.
She was a great interview on XM radio!

Miss Piggy sings a version of Mama Cass's chestnut "Dream A Little Dream of Me" at the Walt Disney Studio's "Muppetvision 3D" attraction in Florida. I can't listen to the original version anymore without thinking about pork chops.

I thought it was a cheese sandwich she choked on, in bed after a performance at the London Palladium.
Did anyone else see BEAUTIFUL THING? I love that movie and the soundtrack is entirely Mama Cass.

I had a surreal experience two thanksgivings ago: I was flipping through the TV stations, and I came across the "H.R. Pufnstuff" movie. There was a scene where Witchiepoo went to a witch's convention. There was one very heavyset witch who was a very bad actress. Her line readings were lousy - she had no comic timing. I couldn't understand how she got the part - then the witches went into a musical number and it suddenly all made sense - it was Mama Cass!
Then I switched channels to discover a classic episode of Scooby Doo - with special guest star Mama Cass!
Very spooky!
its a shame that she died like that, it makes it so easy for people to make fun of her.
She didn't actually choke on a ham sandwich. That's an urban legend.
Three things.
1. I'm hoping that Namo's "good one" was intended for me. Even if it wasn't, I'm going to keep on assuming it was, because it made my day.
2. Vicious Circle, I like the way you think. Very entertaining point.
3. The ham is urban legend? Whatever. It's in Austin Powers, so it's truth enough for me.
I LOVE The Mamas and The Papas. I think they were the greatest! And I loved the movie "A Beautiful Thing" - it was wonderful and touching.
Mama Cass did NOT choke on a ham sandwich. She died from a heart attack, but they found a half eaten sandwich next to her bed and that was what caused the rumor. It's so sad that she is remebered like that, because she was so talented and doesn't deserve to be known as "the singer who choked on a ham sandwich", especially when it's not true.
