AVClub.com has listed the top "15 Songs Owned By Movie Scenes". I completely agree with 'Lust for Life' in Trainspotting and 'Tiny Dancer' in Almost Famous. I can't hear either song without thinking of the movie it's in.
Can anyone think of other songs famously linked to movie scenes?

ABSOLUTELY AGREE-- this is my number 1 choice without question... 1. Stealers Wheel, "Stuck In The Middle With You," Reservoir Dogs. I nearly typed it out before I actually read the list *L*
But a few others that did not make the list:
Dancin' Queen -- Muriel's Wedding
I Say A Little Prayer -- My Best Friend's Wedding-- I literally starting screaming out loud in the theater when Rupert leaned over to Julia "The moment I wake up..."
My ex-husband ducked beneath his seat...in my defense...the movie was a little static until then....I expected more from PJ Hogan...
I totally forgot about 'Mrs. Robinson' and 'I Say A Little Prayer'. I can't believe they didn't make the list. I can't see the commercial for My Best Friend's Wedding (every time they air it on TBS) without singing 'Say a Little Prayer' in my head.
How is "Eye of the Tiger" from Rocky not on that list?
Whenever I listen to Aquarius on my Hair CD I think of the end of 40 Year Old Virgin.

"Partyman" and "Trust" from Batman
"Ghostbusters", "Cleanin Up The Town", "Magic", and "Savin The Day" from Ghostbusters
"Springtime For Hitler" and "Prisoners of Love" from The Producers
"Puttin On The Ritz" in Young Frankenstein
"Kiss From A Rose" from Batman Forever(kinda)
I did'nt see the list, the link wouldn't connect so if these were mentioned please pardon:
Footloose
Take My Breath Away (Top Gun)
and that whistle song from The Bridge Over the River Kwai. It was also used in Breakfast Club.
"Don't You Forget About Me" Breakfast Club
I don't consider "Mrs. Robinson" or "Over the Rainbow," as both were written specifically fo the films. Obviously. What ELSE would you think of?
Less so than some of the others mentioned, but whenever I hear Petula Clark's DOWNTOWN, I picture Wynona Ryder and Angelina Jolie from GIRL, INTERRUPTED.
Agree about "Downtown".
Also, "And Then He Kissed Me" from ADVENTURES IN BABYSITTING.
WHEN I'M 64-World According to Garp
BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY-Wayne's World
PEOPLE ARE STRANGE-The Lost Boys
MISIRLOU-Pulp Fiction
Any Tammy Wynette-Five Easy Pieces
Raindrops keep falling on my head - Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid
"Mad World" sung by Gary Jules in Donnie Darko.
In Your Eyes - Say Anything
Satisfaction - Apocolypse Now
Rachmaninoff Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini - Somewhere in Time
now these were all very popular songs/musical pieces but are definitely identified with the movies mentioned
"Up Where We Belong" in Officer and a Gentleman. Who doesn't think of the movie when they hear the song?
"You Can't Always Get What You Want" and "Ain't Too Proud To Beg" - The Big Chill
Sorry - when it comes to The Big Chill - I immediately think of "I Heard It Through The Grapevine" only
"As Time Goes By"-CASABLANCA
Mele Kelikimaka from National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
AMERICAN PSYCHO...Sussudio.
"Let the River Run" - New York skyline and ferry in the opening or Joan Cusack jumping out of her chair for joy at the end of Working Girl. Gets me every time.
American Girl--David Bowie---Silence of the Lambs
God Only Knows--The Beach Boys--Love Actually
Adagio for Strings--Samuel Barber--Platoon (I actually played part of this piece for a class of kindergarteners to demonstrate fast/slow and one of them said "turn it off....it's too sad!")
"Playmate"-REDS
"He's My Pal"-IRONWEED
