Weekly SNL thread — Page 22

Past couple weeks people have been creating new SNL threads particular to that weeks host. I know a Bieber discussion is already going on separately, but it'd be a shame to not continue this thread after it's been commented on for over a year.
To sum up the discussion: Bieber sucks.
Can't wait to see what Christoph Waltz does next week. I suspect he'll be great.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Would someone please put " The Californians " out of its misery and do everyone a favor

SCTV did it much better with "The Days Of The Week"

I can't explain why it makes me laugh.
I liked the exact Beiber body doubles.

Namo, I thought that was the strongest sketch of the evening. Followed by Miley Cyrus

I did LOL at the doubles sketch ("That one looks like me", "Hi, it's me, Ellen"). And the Bravo commercial was funny, but Bieber just domes off as a little duche, even when he is mocking himself. And I ended up having to mute through his musical performance. I was wondering what would happen to his voice after he hit puberty. I know now that it's like the Titanic hitting that iceberg.

Loved the body doubles bit, and so glad to finally see the new grown-up Miley on the Miley Cyrus show!
I'm not a fan of the Californians, but I love the ATTENTION TEACHERS AND STUDENTS principal, and I'm sure most people hate him.
I was pleasantly surprised by Bieber, but Bieber at his best wasn't as good as Timberlake at his worst.

As I said in the other thread, this was one of the worst episodes in recent memory. Bieber is untalented, and that's giving him more credit than he deserves. There are hundreds of high school actors/singers across the country who would have been better than he was last night.

I laughed my butt off at the opening sketch though about the lights going out at the Superbowl.

Did anyone happen to catch Steve Harvey on "The View" today?

Not too bad of a singer. Let's cast him in dozens of movies we hope happen!

The Marco Rubio bit was all I could hope it would be. Really great job from Taran.

I also loved Kate as the Russian woman on Weekend Update. It almost seemed like she was ad libbing. She stayed in character even though Seth was losing it. The musical guest is very interesting. I like them though!

Is it odd that Christoph was not in the Fox and Friends sketch? I wonder if he was supposed to do Fred's part and something changed that

I'm only at Weekend Update.
I really liked Jesus Unchained, and I wonder if there's going to be some sort of reaction to it.

Spoiler alert: the last sketch was really flat
Other than that, a good show on its own and obviously an improvement over last week. I especially loved Djesus Uncrossed (the "H" is silent), Taran as Rubio, Kate's Russian Woman, Fred as the girlfriend, and I liked the opening too. Man, a lot of craziness happened this past week.
