ok.
What color is THIS dress?
I say it's green.
Fuchsia with lime green motifs. Duh!
I'd be interested to read a technical explanation of what's going on here and why some people recognize the "true" colors faster than others. In my household, two of us saw white & gold first, but then saw blue & black after about 10 minutes; one person saw blue & black from the start; and one person saw white & gold and still only sees white & gold a couple of hours later.
Some explanations from VICE:

Is there a definitive answer?
Something to ponder today.
In the grand scheme of things, who cares?
Every party has a pooper, that's why we invited you!
Judging by social media, just a few million people.
When this thread was started, I had no clue what the OP was talking about since there's no picture in the post.
But after seeing it, it's light blue and gold.
This is the dumbest thing in the entire world.
Blue and black.
I'm the only one who sees it as white (with a tint of blue) and gold
It's actually not the dumbest thing. It's a fascinating example of how we don't all see colors the same.
99% of the time it's been blue and black, but I've seen it gold and white twice.
When I saw it, there were three dresses shown, so it was no fun.
Not dumb at all. I taught an entire lesson plan on how we see color. The students were fascinated.
I went back and looked at the original single dress. I saw gold and pale blue.
I only saw it as white and gold.
But there is proof that it is:
blue and black
I see pale blue and gold. I don't know how anyone gets black from that which is crazy. Does that mean that when I wear black, some people see me as wearing gold?
I always saw blue. I first saw the black then I wasn't 100% sure if it was black or brown or bronze. It never really looked gold there. I see black again today.
And buzzfeed's poll had 71% seeing the white and gold to only 29% black and blue. So, it depends on who you personally spoke to or what you looked at.

It's blue and black. The original picture's color levels were intentionally manipulated.
So you really are seeing white and gold...in the first pic because the color levels were tampered with, but in reality the dress is blue and black.

This is the sort of "news story" that leaves me black and blue.
