I find it odd that Xanadu is doing "Don't Walk Away" it's a great number, but Kerry Butler does not get to sing at all in it. They should have done a song with Butler like Suspended in Time or Suddenly, or better I'm Alive.

How do you know they're doing "Deep Love"? It's a horrible choice, and the only way it would get people to see the show is if they're Megan Mullally die-hards.
I'm glad Patti is performing "Everything's Coming Up Roses". How long do the shows have to perform their number because I think it would be interesting to have the lead-in dialogue to the song "Look at the new star Herbie...".
Really? For Young Frankenstein they are doing Deep Love. I figured they'd do Transylvania Mania, considering it is a big group number. Deep Love is Megan and Shuler. Hum. I don't think thats a good choice but I also thought Xanadu would do Xanadu.
Why no word on Sondheim's Lifetime Achievement Award? I hope his award is not being ignored because too much time will be wasted in having The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Rent and Young Frankenstein needlessly perform.

It doesn't sound like there is a performance for Sonheim's award. They certainly would have announced it by now.
And if the Mugan Mullaly rumour is true, it would seem the 3 non-nominated shows performing are doing solos: "Part of Your World" for LITTLE MERMAID, rumoured "Deep Love" for YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, "Vision" from A CATERED AFFAIR (which Harvey revealed on his blog).
Well then, for the performances of the 3 non-nominated musicals - rumoured to only be alotted 1 minute each, though I think that seems almost impossible as to be practically only a Best 16 - will all be solo numbers.
Looking at it from a financial prospective, solos seem like a smart choice for the non-nominated productions. In fact, I would hate to be the producers of CRY BABY, which must gamble all that money to promote a show that isn't making any now.
Yes, I hear RENT is doing the same arrangement they performed at their last Easter Bonnet: Seasons of Love, Love Heals, No Day But Today
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

"Putting on the Ritz" would be a pretty pricey number, especially for a show that is doing so poorly they're slashing the salaries of the lead performers.
Im upset there wont be a medley for Xanadu. Im happy cheyenne will be singing Dont Walk Away but I thought they would feature Kerry a little more.

thanks for the info...oh, John Lithgow will be there!!
Norbert Leo Butz quotes about John Lithgow: "He's really clumsy. One of the joys in life is to watch a great big huge man totally wipe out backstage. It takes John about three minutes to hit the floor. It's like watching a Great Sequoia falling gracelessly."
too bad they aren't doing 'Puttin on the Ritz' or 'Transylvania Mania'
And you think of all of the things you've seen, and you wish that you could live in between ,and you're back again only different than before...

I don't think there's anyway they could cut Puttin' on the Ritz or Transylvania Mania down to 90 seconds and make it work. Besides, Megan is their most recognizable cast member, so of course they want to feature her.
I heard that these three numbers (Deep Love, Part of Your World and Vision) will be done as a sort of medley/montage rather than each getting their own slot and introduction. So because of that they wanted to keep them smaller.
Am I the only one that's suprised that Miley Cryus is not presenting, that over exposed little twirp seems to be involved in every award show of the year (Grammys, Oscars etc.)
