The Fox in St. Louis made a big deal about buying season tickets for last season so that people would be assured of getting to see Hamilton this upcoming season, and it worked. Every performance I attended this past year was pretty much packed, even for shows that I don't think would have drawn a huge audience otherwise (Fun Home in particular.. incredible show but difficult subject matter).
Just noticed when the humans is in Chicago it will be playing at the Cadillac Palace. Would have thought the private bank, but maybe Hamilton will continue past January.

Haven't we discussed in length that Chicago Hamilton is an open-end run?
Part of the Plan (World Premiere): September 8th-24th, 2017
Fun Home: October 10th-15th, 2017
An American in Paris: October 31st-November 5th, 2017
The King and I: January 30th-February 4th, 2018
Cabaret: February 27th-March 4th, 2018
Wicked: March 28th-April 22nd, 2018
Waitress: June 5th-10th, 2018
Love Never Dies: June 19th-24th, 2018
Are: Fun Home, American in Paris, King and I, and Cabaret staying Equity?
Also perhaps the biggest surprise of the night was Betsy Wolfe coming out to sing She Used to Be Mine. She was phenomenal. Maybe she might go on the road with Waitress now that she isn't a part of Frozen?

I went to the Ahmanson Theatre (LA) a couple of days ago to see Into the Woods and the lady selling season tickets said that she not allowed to say, but the unannounced show has a big star attached. I'm hoping Glenn Close in Sunset Boulevard, Bette Midler in Hello, Dolly!, Imelda Staunton in Gypsy, Amber Riley in Dreamgirls (pre-broadway?), or someone in Funny Girl. I'd be happy with any one of those. I hope it isn't a play.
Did anybody get a recording of Betsy singing She Used To Be Mine? I have no doubt that she was great, but gosh, I need to hear that for myself. It sounds too good to be true.
They/them.

Don't forget In The Heights. I live in DC and don't often get the chance to go to NY and see a show, so I am really liking this season. The National Threatre also released their season a few days back: Les Mis, Waitress, Something Rotten, and Mean Girls. Excited to see these!
The State Theater in New Jersey just announced its Broadway Series for next year-This is likely the closest these tours will stop to Manhattan, so if you have friends on these tours, this is the easiest place to see them.
They are doing an actual subscription series this year for the first time, even though they are a split week, non-equity house.
Subscription:
Jersey Boys-October 13-15
Cinderella-February 9-10
Motown-March 23-25
Gentleman's Guide-April 6-7
Cabaret-May 18-19
Add-Ons:
Sound of Music-December 22-24
Wizard of Oz-May 4-5
Other Tours that are part of the Broadway series in other small markets, but not here:
Great season for the State Theater of NJ. I wonder if the theater only allows each tour to do a maximum of 5 shows. I see Jersey Boys selling out quickly there. They could easily do a full week(8 shows) if it was possible.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
This past year was the first time our theater had any tours for more than 3 shows-the theater is less than an hour from Manhattan, so many people will opt to go see a Broadway show than come to see something in New Jersey. And yes, Jersey Boys could have easily sold out a full week in Jersey.
Our theater is also a 1920s Vaudeville house, and cannot physically accommodate many of the larger shows currently on the road-The non-equity tours, which average a few nights in most venues, just about fit in the theater.

I had a feeling it might be Prather, but I just looked and Networks has the non-equity rights for the Roundabout Cabaret for next year-They have the new website up already, with dates TBD.
It looks like Jersey Boys is staying Equity, but is playing mostly split weeks next year, so probably another downsize of the physical package.
