Just saw on the news that bad weather could impact the parade. I’m assuming that at some point over the years inclement weather has forced the parade to be canceled or postponed. Am I correct? Anyone know? Details? I’m wondering if the Broadway shows which I believe have to pay to participate are reimbursed if the parade is nixed? Or would they transition to showing a production from inside their respective theatres?
It's going on rain or shine, per the New York Post and as confirmed by a Macy's spokesperson.
Also, no CBS parade telecast for the foreseeable future — cost-cutting measure.
Here is an article on the CBS cancellation....

It rained in 2006. Check out the Julie Andrews performance. The news is just being the news.

No, the parade has never been cancelled or postponed. They always have a Plan B in the event of bad weather (they have camera-friendly tent set-ups for performances). The only time the parade was suspended was between 1942 to 1944 because of World War II and the fact that rubber and helium were needed for the war effort.
Grain of salt since it's a Wiki, but this seems to have the full rundown of performances as well as who's on what float (for the Broadway-adjacencies that aren't the official show performances at the beginning).
Spoilers, obviously, assuming this is accurate:

Are they doing any Wicked related on Thursday?

WICKED is a Universal release and the parade airs on NBC/Universal so expect an exhausting amount of WICKED content.
Thankfully I have purchased my new WICKED raincoat, green booties and matching umbrella to combat the dramatic weather report. See you all at the parade!
Can't recall the last time the parade had weather this bad. I feel so bad for the performers.

This is so chaotic I love it

I thought these are typically entirely lip synced, but Shoshana and Maleah’s voices are sounding very rough (has Maleah been missing a lot, because this sounds like vocal damage big time).
Maleah has been out a lot lately.
Added: all performances are lip-synced..

They must’ve recorded an “as-live” track because that was…not good.

I miss the days when all the Broadway performances back to back opened the parade. There’s too much useless chit chat in the first hour now

Death Becomes Her now.

I know this is typically the case, but when she was playing at the piano, you could hear her earrings slapping around and her breathing, so I think that piece may have been live.

Maleah and Shoshana also were the only ones with mics on. Even Michelle Williams doesn’t have a mic on right now.
HK may have been trying to show the voices live, but it was a swing and a miss if that was the goal.
I guess the weather forced them to start early. It’s always started at 9:00 and when I turned the TV on, it was already starting. Even Hoda and Savannah said that the parade was marching at double time.
The intro for DEATH BECOMES HER was HILARIOUS and a perfect pitch. The performance did emphasized that Michelle Williams is a weak link and the beginning of the performance sounded a bit rough. I did love the Thanksgiving nods in the lyrics though.

Yeah having Megan and Jennifer there and not letting them sing was a poor choice.
That said the parade was advertised to start at 8:30 this year
