Has anyone here been to the Loft? It is SMALL

Pam Blair would beg to differ...

She was the one I thought passed but couldn't remember.

Seating is roughly 100? Tickets will be either dirt cheap or very expensive. Or they'll offer rush tickets where you'll sit on the floor...😂

It's non-equity, so no. Plus Goldyn needs to retire from playing the role.

The Instagram page has been scrubbed. Have the estates killed this production already?
Edit: Just noticed the production’s website has also gone private. Eek!
Those rights were snatched.

Wouldn't be surprised if they acted quickly to cancel this.
Also, anyone attached to this has also deleted any news of the production.
Kiss The Loft Goodbye…

I repeat: MESS.
I'll take a guess as to what happened.
1. They never secured the rights
2. They announced it without having the rights and the estate immediately stepped in
3. The amount of backlash this got contributed to removing of their IG page.

I think it's more similar to when OOTB got their rights for Floyd Collins revoked. They never should have had them in the first place, because there was always plans Broadway.

“Unfortunately, the New York production announced this morning mischaracterized itself during the licensing process and will no longer be going ahead. There are some exciting 50th anniversary plans in the pipeline that have been fully authorized by all rightsholders which will be shared with you shortly.”

Who's got Baayork's number? I need the tea!
It sounds like the issue was that they decided to call this "the 50th anniversary production" and grab headlines. If they had just... thrown this up without trying to make it a big deal, I wonder if anybody would've cared.
So, they thought no one would notice? Hilarious. I'm sure they will do something small for the anniversary, I doubt there's a huge appetite for this in 2025 beyond this board.
Because all bway fans are required to be registered here at BWW?
We all saw this coming, them getting their rights stripped (I even questioned whether they'd yet gotten the rights. On the inside, not publicly.)

Hearing there will be a one night 50th anniversary event at the Shubert.

That exactly what I think it was. They likely had the rights but didn't clear billing it as such.

Nope, that's not what I meant at all. This show is old, antiquated and tired. No one but hard-core older Broadway fans give a sh*t. More clear buddy?
Hearing there will be a one night 50th anniversary event at the Shubert.
Now that makes perfect sense and is the correct amount of performances.

if this involves Kelly Bishop, Nancy Lane & Kay Cole doing At The Ballet one more time together, I'll definitely be there.
Was there any mention of A CHORUS LINE's 50th anniversary on the Tony Awards?

What better way to start off a new week (and a new season) than another ignorant proclamation from America's Sweetheart!

Do you always go thru life acting like you speak for everyone? Do you always think your opinion is the only one? Do you ever stop talking down to people? Or are you ALWAYS like this?
