I don't consider myself a racist if I didn't want to see this show. There are plenty of shows that I have no desire to see -- and it is simply a question of appeal. My ticket budget is limited. The "I'm not okay" sounds a bit like Diep Tran's recent similar query about "Leopoldstadt" -- which she since apologized for and walked back."
Noticed but was not surprised that that wildly offensive tweet from playbill's editor in chief on like her first day on the job barely got any mention on these boards. This article seems to be of the same birdbrained mind: how dare audiences not flock to the shows I think they should!
I wanted to go to the last show bad but at this point it upsets me that they are holding tickets for VIP's etc. I've seen it 7 times. That's enough for me. Love the show and always will. But it's ironic I asked Michael about tickets for the last show and he never responded and he has always replied to me on IG.
We are lucky it made it to Broadway. I am so happy I got to see it.

There are seats still available in the Mezz and Balcony.

Much in the vein of how LMM told people he wasn't able to get them HAMILTON tickets after it blew up, MRJ likely has no idea about how the tickets for closing night will work. Likely, the case is the remaining orchestra (so, whatever had not been purchased up to that point) has been allocated for the cast and creative/production team to invite friends and family, and the producers then have their own allocation of seats and the right to determine if any orchestra get released. It was my understanding that, since a majority of the orchestra has been accessibly cheap throughout the run, there was concern over potential scalping of those seats if they were immediately available.

I'm in the city visiting for a few days and my first show of course was back to see A Strange Loop last night. The cast was amazing, i haven't seen it since early Spring and I felt like I was seeing it for the first time. Jacquel is just so adorable when he makes his evil faces and innocent faces. He was in fine voice. It was my first-time seeing Zachary A. Myers who was also exceptional. Kyle was in playing Thought 6. His voice is amazing. The last song still makes me cry and I walked out emotionally drained. The audience seemed to enjoy it too.
If anyone knows how to get an orchestra ticket for the last show (matinee) please let me know. I was at the first preview; I would love to be at the last show.

Go see Edwin. His delivery of the title song along is worth it!
Per Instagram, tonight was almost an all-skate. Edwin on for Usher, Zachary A. Meyers for #2, Jon-Michael Reese on for #5 (and likely the whole weekend since Jason Veasey is on vacation), and Kyle Ramar Freeman as #6 (which is a mindfork for those who've seem him as Usher and know how Usher and #6 are diametrically opposite).

Apparently all understudies were on and someone else got sick last minute. Looks like their evening show went on.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

There was no evening show scheduled tonight
I will say that having to cancel a performance due to illness is rather concerning, especially because they have a marathon of 16 consecutive shows over the next 11 days starting on Tuesday. And I’ve seen the show enough times to know very well that there’s always going to be at least one understudy on at any given performance. The issue lies with the fact that there are only five understudies for seven roles, and they are really flexed out, with most covering 3 or 4 roles.
In particular, Kyle Freeman is the only one who covers 4 roles (Usher, #4, #5, and #6) so if he is on, that will limit who else can be out without canceling since 4/5/6 has only one other cover, and the other Usher cover (Edwin Bates) also covers 2/3.
I will say anyone who is seeing the show soon, if you have an understudy, they are all remarkably talented and unique and fit well into every track - you will not be disappointed

My Aunt saw both Jaquel and Kyle in one night due to a mid-show swing-out and said that she thought Jaquel was the better actor, but Kyle was the better singer.
I've seen them both, but several months apart, and I would generally agree.
