Not to be a negative nancy, but I'm going to vote for Pirate Queen.
Honestly, I think that LB will have a long healthy run.

If not Pirate Queen, then I would say as soon as Christine Ebersole leaves Grey Gardens..I think that show is done for because right now it's not doing really great
This whole thread reminds me of that scene in AUNTIE MAME when Mother Burnside looks at everybody gathered on the front porch of the plantation and she snorts:
"Pack of vultures."

Poor Beauty...Why can't they just close Phantom and let beauty surpass it?
Because phantom is still making money and Beauty isn't.

Beauty still makes a good amount of money, the problem is, how much it costs to run the show. That's a big budget show that costs A LOT of money to run, so if they were to keep it, Disney would have: Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Mary Poppins, Tarzan, and The Little Mermaid all on broadway. Sad to say, if they had to bump a show to put Little Mermaid on, Beauty is the first pick. I kind of rambled there...I hope that actually made sense. lol
My predictions:
Tarzan
The Pirate Queen
Talk Radio
I'm pretty sure Talk Radio is scheduled to close June 24th anyway.

Yeah it's very sad to see such a great show close, but it will probably be revived like 3 years after it closes..and wonderfulwizard11 Beauty is making the same amount as Phantom and most of the weeks it's making more

"Yankeefan, how can you say Beauty & the Beast and The Producers will close!"
Both announced a closing date way back. The Producers is closing April 22nd and will be replaced by Young Frankenstein. I forget when Beauty and The Beast is closing but that's being replaced by Little Mermaid
... some of you guys aren't quite up on your sarcasm, are you? ^_^
Spelling Bee was packed when I went last Sat night
My prediction is pirate queen though
I think Future Alladin may have surpassed NLS as most annoying new poster. Well done!! You two should get married.

Well, Yankeefan, with negative, pessimistic people like you going on and on about how The Producers and Beauty and the Beast are going to close, is it any wonder?
What ever happened to supporting theater?
In all seriousness, does anyone doubt for a second that Beauty and the Beast will make its way back to Broadway in some form even faster than Les Mis did?
Disney is making enough money out of the lion king an mary poppins it doesn't need beauty. Heck, it doesn't even need broadway shows because they are so loaded.

This is a horrible thread.
Are we really going to start the "Why do you want to put actors out of work?" argument again. Its theatre. They're actors. Its the nature of the beast. Shows open. Shows close. Crappy shows close because they're crappy, not because the world wants another unemployed actor. This is perhaps the stupidest constant defense on this board.
Perhaps it is because people here pretend they have personal relationships with actors based on a response to a letter or a stage door moment. And its always the same people, who don't seem to care when the truly great shows close early but lament the death of Wedding Singer, High Fidelity, and other critically panned shows that couldn't find an audience beyond rabid teens who will drink anything served to them in a pretty but broken glass. I don't want actors to go without work, but its just the way theatre works.
It strikes me as funny that we're concerned about the actors here. They still get paid while the producers search and search for money to keep a show afloat, hoping an audience will build. This rarely happens, and when the producers decide the close the show, this board is a buzz with cries of "How dare you wish an actor to go without work!". But what about the producers and their reputation? Why should they fight to keep a show open, begging for more money from backers, when they could close the show and start work on something else that could be successful and could employ some of the same talent that closed the last show?
Just saying...
I think the issue is that when people say they want a show to close or think a show should close because it's an artistic blunder and it sucks or it's been around too long or whatever, there are people who automatically take that to mean they're saying they want the actors to be out of work. If you make a comment like that, it certainly isn't the same as wanting to put people out of work. One doesn't imply the other; rather, one is an inevitable consequence of the other. I think it's perfectly possible to think a show should close without the ill-will that goes along with saying "I hope these people lose their jobs!" Yes, the two unfortunately go hand-in-hand, but the people who rant and get all upset seem to make it like that is the first thing you're after. It may be a consequence of what you think should happen, but you're not saying you want a group of actors out of work. People need to learn to separate the two and quit accusing those of malign. Wishing something that has poor consequences doesn't mean you at root wish those consequences.
I'm not sure if that makes sense. My brain is melted tonight.
