Hm. Did not see that coming. August 20th. Awesome!!!
I was hoping for Jinkx. But I'm interested to see Andrew.

Seriously? NPH is great, but I am very curious to see what Andrew Rannells can bring to the role. This might get me back to see the show if it does happen.
Yes... YES... YES!!!!!!!!! Someone I don't despise immensely! I can see Hedwig now!
It is the truth. I heard about it beforehand from a friend who works on the production
I think I can dig this. Not the obvious choice, but I think checking this out again will be part of my summer trip.
I'm sure the BOM and hipster Girls crowd will buy lots of tickets.

You need someone more famous than Andrew for what is a 2 person show. I do think Jonathon Groff would be amazing.

According to BWW, his run is only 8 weeks long. So, I wonder who would replace him?
When I read the headline my face was literally O.O "YESSSSSSSSS!" He'll be great!

Did not see this coming either - it is a great choice and hope they can line up Pink after Rannells 8 week run (the rumor of Pink replacing NPH was VERY intriguing). Now we will see if Hedwig will suffer from the "not-Lane and not-Broderick Producers" syndrome and prove the show is more than a specific individual playing Hedwig.
I never thought Hedwig would survive once John Cameron Mitchell stepped out of the off-Bway version - OR - the original Cabaret revival would survive after Cummings left. But they both did - and very well.
I hope they can also tweek some small details of the show to fit into the special talents and let each of these Hedwigs put their own stamp on the show (although some of the unscripted passages allow the individusls to bring something slightly different to it). That would be really cool.
Long live Hedwig...

Wilson Jermaine Heredia anyone???
There's clips of him singing "Origin of Love" at various concerts - and very well.
I think it's a good choice. Surprising, but not at all unwelcome.
Also, that poster looks like a porn parody of the show.
Joseph Gordon Levitt, Adam Lambert, Tim Minchin, Matt Bellamy, Jared Leto, Donald Glover, Jim Parsons, Lee Pace, or even Amanda Palmer would be much more interesting choices....
If they're following the same formula as the off broadway show, it could turn out to be a brilliant idea. The fan base from seeing JCM loved the show so much and were anxious to see each one of the following Hedwigs when they took over, and the show lasted 2 years.

I was in Camp Jared Leto, too. A real rocker and a fine actor but agents probably said no more transgender roles for now.
The producers confirmed to the New York Times that this is happening. Why all the questions???
