Armie Hammer and Tom Skerritt to lead Straight White Men

I saw Anna Shapiro's production of this at the Steppenwolf in Chicago and it was fantastic. I wasn't aware at the time that it would transfer to Broadway, but it absolutely makes sense. It's a great play with a poignant, essential central message. Can't wait to see how this production fares in NYC!

How is it that Second Stage has been able to get all of these A and A- List Stars and yet Roundabout is limping along with B and C listers at best?

He's not, actually. Although his great-grandfather and namesake owned stock in the company, it pre-dated even him. It was just a weird coincidence.

He’s doing fine with movies; he has three in post-production right now. Also, on the CMBYN press tour he’s talked a lot about how he wanted to stop chasing blockbuster movies (he kept getting lead roles and the movies kept flopping) and start doing projects that challenged and inspired him, so he probably just really wants to do this show.

Couldn't agree more. Roundabout is a mess.

Hopefully this means there will be an announcement about ticket sales soon! With Young Jean Lee and Anna D. Shapiro behind it, I'm actually more excited for this than Lobby Hero. A shame Armie Hammer doesn't have the Oscar nomination to boost interest like folks predicted here.

Subscriber bookings started today, but there was no info in my email saying when public sales start. I don't remember the timing between subscriber booking & public on-sale for Lobby Hero. I booked that on 11/7/17, which was likely the first day of subscriber bookings as well.

I mean, no one is banging down the doors to see Cera and Evans, and I'd say they'd be more of a hot ticket than Hammer, who isn't in any major blockbusters.
