So you actually have the power to change the antisocial behavioral patterns of teenage stans simply byquoting random anecdotes you pull off the internet? That's a pretty awesome power to have."
i actually have a bit of influence in the “stan” community from different things i’ve done in the newsies community, so i’ll tell you how it goes. word comes out that stagedoor is a mess, me and other murals discourage it, people weakly try to dispute it, i bring up actual stories of the night and they eventually cave. it worked for quite a few people when i had actual stories of the disrespect to kyle selig at the mg stagedoor. if it works for even just one person, that’s awful behavior that i’ve just helped stop. so, yeah, i’m gonna want a story or two.
the rush for this show is going to be insane. Wouldn't be surprised to hear people camping out overnight for rush tickets.

As soon as that happens (and they get enough press for it), they'd switch to lottery."
I was honestly surprised to see rush announced for this show. I thought they would have gone straight to a digital lottery, to avoid the Rent-esque teens sleeping on the street for days in the line.
Darn, I am visiting NYC this weekend and I was going to rush this Saturday. Can someone report back how bad the rush lines are this week? I would love to know tomorrow's situation.

HA yea what's with this Maura chick.

Sunday in the Park with George
I'm very curious about what its advance is. Looking at Telecharge, it's slim pickins for the first two weeks of previews, and then there's a lot of inventory after that. I don't think they've done a discount code yet, but there are $49 balcony tickets.
I am surprised they were doing rush. Dear Evan Hansen didn’t have a rush policy (just SRO) in the beginning and when that went crazy they started the digital lottery. I guess rush will be crazy if they’re really good seats. If they’re for last row if balcony, then I’d pass.
Robbie2, were they taken after the show? I was sitting In the seat where the woman in the gold jacket is sitting for act 1 and the second seat in for act 2 at the invited dress.
I will say that going in I heard from older people, who have seen it, that it just wasn't aimed at them. I am older. I got it. Didn't make me feel old. I actually related to some of it.
I won't be able to get that "Michael in the Bathroom" song out of my head for a good while.
Saw a fringe production in Perth Australia last week, I’m not sure what all the fuss is about. I admit that I’m not the age group they are aiming for, plus some of the actors didn’t have the clearest enunciation which didn’t help. Apart from Michael In The Bathroom, the rest was so so. I wish them all the best, but I don’t see the appeal.
Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist.
Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino.
This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more.

I’ll be in the area tonight and will report back (not seeing the preview but I’ll be nearby). Also I know someone involved with the production and they said the show has changed a lot since the off broadway run.
Im also surprised that they have a rush policy but do agree that depending on how crazy it gets they’ll switch to lottery instead. I might go by the theater early on Saturday to see what the situation is.
really surprised it's not longer. maybe the rush for this show won't be all that bad. Or maybe it's fans can't rush the show since they're all still in school.

I think people are def. overstating this shows appeal. It went from a very small off-Broadway house to a 3 tier Broadway house. It's going to have to fill a lot of seats. I don't think the rush for this will be crazy at all.
I'd love to know if the design has been expanded at all to suit a Broadway house?

On some level, I don't know that they will be related. When I saw it Off-Broadway, it seemed like a bunch of tweens and teens who made their parents take them. So, if you can get your parents to buy tickets at whatever price, what does rush matter?

oh wow you're right! I see it on TKTS south street seaport.
i also went to telecharge and found a good number of seats in mid-orch and a few in mezz and balcony. I checked 2 days ago and tonight's performance was completely sold out.
would have assumed their first week would have been sold-out. surprised by the short rush line & it also being available on TKTS(at 50% off).
It's also up at Lincoln Center now and should likely be available at Times Square starting at 3pm.

As to why it's not sold out yet - tickets are expensive and people that this show is geared towards (teens like me) still have school. I am hoping for a lottery because I can't justify the price or predicted rush line. I rushed TPTGW and ended up with phenomenal $45 6th row orchestra seats. $50 for seats in the balcony is a little crazy for a pretty small show like this - I think TPTGW balc seats were like $28
