Yeah, we understand the way the business works. Many of us much better than you. People losing their jobs deserve empathy, not cruelty. You talk about these situations like the people involved are disposable. It shows how far you are from the reality they’re living, and the embarrassing lack of empathy and respect you have for the people who keep this business running."
I think Kad is just taking the emotion out of it. It's a business, as you obviously know. I have seen no one, this entire time, gleefully excited that people are going to lose their jobs. Please point me to any poster doing that. And if you work in arts you know how unstable, fleeting, and tough it can be. But this show is closing and people are allowed to talk about a Broadway show on a Broadway message board whether it's thriving or dying."
Talking and hoping are two different things. The latter seems to be the vibe here.

Don't practice your mirror work on me."
Such a great retort it’s not even worthy of a response.

The vibe is people are happy people are losing their jobs? I see no one doing that at all.

I never said people can’t talk about a show closing, so don’t rewrite my words to manufacture an argument I didn’t make. I called out the tone Kad used when talking about people losing their jobs. That’s it. If you’re determined to invent a different conversation, do it without dragging me into it.

Right so you have no examples of any attacks and have been screaming in this thread for days lecturing people, today's victims being The8re Phan and Kad, both incredibly reasonable and intelligent posters.
You've made your point a thousand times now, we all got it. Keep screaming into the wind, no one is listening any longer.

If you need to invent tone, motives, and imaginary “victims” to make your point, that’s on you. I made a straightforward comment about the way job loss was being discussed. If you want to turn that into a melodrama about me “screaming,” that’s your projection, not my behavior.

The Distinctive Baritone said: "No one publicly moralizes in quite the same way as theater people. What is it about our industry that attracts such insufferable prigs?
We are not "excited" for the show to close. Jesus."
Best comment. Period.

The Baritone forgot to mention the part where theatre people are delusional liars who make crap about us screaming at people for days and accusing people of being “gleeful” about shows closing when neither of which happened.

Well, the majority of us (myself included) have either a mental illness or a personality disorder, so that’s implied.

Is this going to become PARADISE SQUARE 2.0? (Though at least that had 10 Tony noms and a win)

I genuinely do not understand how or why they're still running. What's the thinking here? The seatmaps for the upcoming performances are devastating.

So - if they got a priority loan from, say, a multi millionaire, then minimum royalties can continue. And who receives them? Creative team and Lead Producers. So why close now if the loan is still funding the show and allowing minimum royalties and weekly office fees to continue? Right? It’s also most likely a tax writeoff from the lender. Everyone’s happy. And cast and crew are working!
