I’m just passing along information I’ve learned from the experience I’m having working in a Broadway theatre and testing daily. The COVID Safety teams have been an extraordinary asset to us (at our theatre, at least). I’m in no way a medical professional, nor do I claim much independent research.

Thank you for literally keeping Broadway alive. I appreciate the hard work you’ve done and will continue to do for years.

Any particular reason you're only keeping track of the musicals?"
By interest, I'm more of a musical person, though I certainly care about the wellbeing of plays as well. Only Harry Potter is on pause at the moment (Skeleton Crew has not even begun perfs yet).

I was thinking thinking the same thing about Claybourne Elder with Katrina Lenk. With how highly transmittable Omicron is, it's strange -- but also encouraging, I suppose -- that someone can escape getting the virus from someone who they kiss onstage every day."
I assume Katrina, along with eveyone else,is getting tested regularly,if not daily. I'd like to think Sondheim is watching over the last cast that he ever directly worked with. :)

This was my first thought, too. Especially after reading the last tweet in their thread.
Of course that could all change if any the standbys/understudies/swings turn positive on Monday. We shall see.

Kathy's not a standby, only Max Clayton is. Kathy is listed as a swing and also covers the roles of Ethel Toffelmier and Alma Hix.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
That's 15 shows now - everyday it's another showing announcing cases. This has really gotten out of control and devastating. At this point they should just shut down Broadway shows until the New Year for the safety, health and well-being of the Broadway community!

The Jesus Christ Superstar tour in Toronto has just cancelled it's remaining two weeks of shows here due to Covid. Our Come From Away sit down is currently on hold till next week.
Not a cancellation but if anyone is now looking for a show to see - LaChanze’s u/s is going on in Trouble In Mind tomorrow (not COVID related). If I was braving the crowds right now I’d definitely check it out. It’s a good show and an easy ticket. Not likely to ever be revived again.
I really feel for the entire community and city. But I’m also not sure what new Broadway leadership should/would do. Each production is a separate business. If some are able to still operate safely and keep people employed, why shouldn’t they be running? A full on Broadway closure may mean some of the shows that are making it through this week would close for good and even more people would be unemployed. There’s not really a good answer here - this just all sucks.

Back when the cancellations started, there were those who hoped to hold off the inevitable until the New Year. That didn't work out too well, and now we have the one show that everyone prayed would not get hit in its aborning days hit. (Now everyone is praying for a miracle, that Jackman somehow evades inevitability.) As I said quite a while back, and more recently, folks need to wrap their heads around the idea of a hiatus for the remaining shows. There is going to be a huge fall off in business in January (as there always is even in the best of circumstances) plus let's recognize that the brunt of omicron has not hit yet. (NYC will be past it sooner than most of the country, and the theatre is getting hit harder than even the city in general because it is just about the only job where people have to be unmasked to do their jobs, but expect at least January to be in the nature of a reset/rethink.) I know this is not what people want to hear but best to avoid shocks as we recover.

No there is not, yyys. You can still catch LaChanze's u/s on New Year's Day at 8.

First, as I say in another post, I don't think plowing through is going to be viable, whether it is because folks are not healthy or because there is simply not going to be enough audience. Secondly, I think pushing through will do more damage than a having a controlled hiatus, based on understandings between all of the parties. (That's what leadership could do, if we had some.) No one will gain by losing a ton of money over the next month or two, and shows that might survive a hiatus might not survive that. (All of that said, I still stand by my expectation that we will have around a dozen or so shows still standing on 3/1/22.0
