10 days.

Little Shop of Horrors have been performing but Jeremy Jordan was out. An understudy posted they will be on for Jeremy all week.

For Music Man, Sutton Foster will still be in her isolation period by Wednesday.
"

Thanks. I hadn’t heard Jeremy Jordan was out.   Who is his understudy?  May as well come at this point since the theater told me no refunds within 48 hours.

Also, isn’t this near the end of Little Shop’s run.

No, it's just near the end of Jordan's run. Little Shop is currently selling tickets through Labor Day

I went to the movies this afternoon at AMC on 42nd St, as I do every Christmas Day. Every year it’s like fighting a Black Friday crowd at Wal-Mart to get into your theater, with almost every showtime sold out days in advance. Today there was only a couple people there and by looking at the AMC app, there has not been one single sold out show, not even Spider-Man. That speaks volumes about tourism in town right now, the busiest time of the year."

The air flight situation has run off even a lot of people who would take their chances on cancelled shows and the like. I have a friend of a friend who had the worst of all possible worlds: came early without incident and now is living the title of Thomas Wolfe's last novel...

What movie did you go to see?

Oh, great. Saw it with Groff, Blanchard, and Borle. Such a fun night!

Meanwhile, here in Oklahoma City, thinking about seeing movie tonight and unless I want to see WSS again (third time)  or Nightmare Alley -  really want to see it (both late night showings which are sparsely sold), I’m looking at packed theater for Spider-man (which I’d also like to see but not necessarily at risk of getting Covid).

I thought I saw somewhere that Josh Daniel would be on for Seymour next week.

Just came back from The Girl from the North Country. This was on our list but we had not previously purchased tickets ahead of time. Since our Music Man performance was canceled and they had a show tonight we got tickets. Wow! Just wow! The cast is so talented and I was so moved I even bought a shirt! I am not even a Bob Dylan fan! Anyone who’s looking for a show replacement, please consider it!

The only understudy they used was Aidan Wharton for Gene Laine as Colin Bates was out.

Now I just hope the rest of my shows pan out as Telecharge has frozen my account as I was trying to order tickets from the hotel room and since the IP address is in NY and my home address is in another state I was flagged as violating some kind of security breach but that’s another story.

I caught GFTNC 12/18 unexpectedly after MJ canceled. I was floored by who good it was. I wrote it off in early 2020 based on how many people on this board hated it and I was not a huge Band’s Visit fan and there were lots of comparisons.

It is one of my favorite things I have ever seen. Incredible.

I was at Little Shop on Thursday. Josh Daniel was on for Jeremy Jordan, who I saw once before. This particular performance seemed a bit low-energy. The urchins were singing quietly and almost dispiritedly. Borle was still his high-energy, funny self and got a ton of audience laughs and applause as usual.

Intermission seemed to take longer than usual, and finally an announcer came on to say that one of the urchins would be swapped out for another performer during the second act. Probably not Covid related given that she performed the first act (I assume she was tested on arrival at the theater, but what do I know?).  The swap actually helped… the substitute actress did a fabulous job and her enthusiasm crept into the two other urchins who suddenly sang with more enthusiasm, too. I do hope Jordan is back this week. I noticed that the theater is packed and/or sold out for most performances.

I don’t blame anyone for not being at their tip-top best this week. It has been dispiriting for everyone, audiences and cast/crew alike, I’m sure. I’m glad I saw Music Man a couple times with Sutton Foster before she tested positive. My third ticket was cancelled, but I managed to get a [relatively] cheap ticket for this coming week so that I can see it with the swing everyone is praising so highly.

Based on everyone’s comments that Tina may be short-lived I nabbed tickets to see it on Christmas Day but, as we all know, it cancelled just 2.5 hours before showtime. I wasn’t shocked. Next I turned to TKAM, which then cancelled as well. There weren’t many shows running today… but apparently nothing brings Phantom down!

Thank you so much! I did and talked to a lovely person who was working on Christmas. She helped me order Girl From North Country over the phone but Music Man wouldn’t work. She had to wait until her manager came in later to return my call. When she called me back she said their security team said there was nothing they can do. I’ve also sent an email. I’m hoping it can get resolved once business days are resumed. I ended up going to the box office for Music Man but it’s ridiculous that I can’t log into my account,

I had a similar problem with Telecharge about 5 years ago, and was on the phone forever. It was all about passwords and things not matching, or something. I've begun using a different email and purchasing as a guest. They are notoriously rigid with consumer protection issues, and though I respect that (and understand in the scalping/third party sale climate why it's critical) they make it hard to be an ordinary person who messed up. As we all do with online accounts now and then.

I also had an issue like that with Telecharge. I called in so many times to get my password reset that I finally gave up and just made a new account.

If you're in the city best, safest and least complicated just walk up to the box office 30 minutes before curtain and say "any two you've got". You should "got' them.

They were supposed to have shows at 5pm and 9pm today, so they must've been canceled. I'm not seeing confirmation on their socials, but those performances aren't on Seat Geek now.

If anyone's show was cancelled and you're looking for something to see today the matinee of Moulin Rouge today seems at least a third empty right now. For a show that usually sells out or nearly sells out... Lots of tickets for the evening too.

Thanks, Jordan we certainly did. So no shut down just a "wait and see approach" the next few months is apparently THE move. Yikes. Thanks for the update. heart

Oh Lord. I have tickets for tomorrow night. Rescheduled from April 2020. Hope it's just a matter of giving someone's understudy time to get back from wherever they went for Christmas!

I know you. I know you. I know you.
