Has anyone rushed Carousel recently? How many people have been in line? Do they always have tickets available?

Yes, I know the production sucks, but I'm a sucker for Jessie Mueller and Renee Fleming.

Same. Jessie Mueller was the draw for me but sadly she's hardly on stage.

Regarding Rush, on my way to work during this past week I noticed around 9:30 the line had about 25-30 people. Since I can't stand in line Mon-Fri I'm not sure when these people got the, but I'd say it would be safe to get there by 7:00/7:30 during the week if you really want to be first in line. However, I rushed a few weekends ago on Sunday and arrived around 8:30 and was 2nd in line. The options for rush tickets were boxes and rear mezz. I chose the box but only because I'd seen it before center orch so I knew what I'd be missing. Seat availability for rush depends on the show, as I know they do offer side/partial view orch tickets as well.

I rushed carousel this past Sunday. I went right after I rushed waitress, so I got to the box office around 12:05-12:10. There was a line, but I was still able to get rush in the rear mezz row f. It was a good enough view to see everything. I loved the rear mezz for comet, but that was mostly because they used the mezz. When I went they were having technical difficulties with the system, so I was in line for like 30 minutes. I’m not sure you have to get there super early for this show though. If you want the best rush seats than yeah but it you just want tickets you should be fine going there a bit before the box office opens

You know the production sucks without even seeing it? If so, the naysayers have been successful in swaying you. I guarantee 75+% of the audience will be standing and applauding enthusiastically as the final curtain falls. I wonder why?

I rushed this morning and got there around 8 a.m. I ended up being sixth in line. There were single seats available in Row A of the orchestra. People who wanted two seats together got rear mezzanine or boxes. I asked the ticket rep how many he was selling today, and he said not many. He said the number really varies from day to day. There were about 25 people on line when the box office opened, and I bet not all of them got tickets. Maybe that's because it's spring break and lots of people are in town, I don't know.

Update: The view from our box was fantastic. Great show!

I rushed today. The first person was there at 7am. Everyone else trickled in after 8am. The line probably only went 20-30 people deep. I think everyone got seats as it was a 2 show day. Mine are row J partial view. I'm excited to see the cast tonight!

Thanks for the info on rush for "Carousel." I'm going to rush the show when I'm there in a few weeks. I'll just need 1 seat and will try to see if I can get a box seat on the day I'm going. Thanks.

Just an update from today, Saturday April 14: I got there at 6:45am and was first on line. The next person got there at 7. Then there was a long period where no one came until 8:30am which is when it started picking up. I would say at 10am there was probably 30 people on line getting tickets.

Don’t know how many people got tickets but I got Box E and I’m excited to see this this afternoon!

I rushed last Wednesday (4/25). Got there around 9am and was fifth in line; there were about 15 people in line by the time the box office opened at 10am. I was able to get Orchestra, Row E 15 and 17.

I failed rushing last Saturday on 4/28. I got in line a little before 9am. There were more than 20 people in front of me, and lots of people joined after me. All rush tickets for the matinee were gone when it was my turn. It seemed they still had a few left for the evening performance though.

I walked by that same day on the way to work just before 10, and there appeared to be a good 70 people in line.

Am currently first in line for rush (Wed, May 2). I got here around 8 and the second person came shortly after. It's now 9:15 and there's about 10-15 people in line. Will update if/when I get tickets. I'm aiming for the evening performance, not the matinee

Rushed today, got there at 7:00 and was first in line, second person arriving shortly after. By 9:00 there were maybe 8-10 people in line, and by 10:00 there were probably 20 people in line. Seats were rear mezzanine row F center section, $40

Wow, I rushed last Tuesday. Went to the box office at 11.20 and got a box seat! It was partial view but I didn't miss anything, i had a great view of the wings tho.

Got here at 9:30am on a Sunday with one show at 3:00pm. I’m fifth in line and confident that I will get the two tickets I want. By 10:45, about eight more people joined the line behind me. I’ll post again with the outcome after the box office opens at noon!

edit: I easily got two tickets in the s cons to Kat row of the side mezzanine.

I got a rush ticket at 12:15pm on Saturday for the evening show. Row B (3rd row) side orchestra. Great seat and not marked as partial

I didn't think it sucked, just old-fashioned. But I watch movie musicals from the 30s, 40s, 50s and am currently taking Turner Classic Movie's "Mad About Musicals" course. I'm not crazy about operatic level voices like Renee, but I loved the dancing. And I've seen it 3 times and planning to see it again. I've heard mixed things about rush, i.e., tickets are available just before the show and hours before hand.
