Spotted at the final callback for revival of Cabaret.
She would make a great Sally Bowles and get a huge amount of buzz for the show.
Best of luck!!!
She'd be great! Let's take with a tiny grain of salt since those being called back may not be the only ones considered for Sally.
If she does get cast, I pity the social team for the show because everything Dylan does now is so disgustingly picked apart by the Right. May they forget about her (or stop caring about the non-controversy) quickly.

Could be an ensemble callback. Broadway loves their tik tockers…. JJ…amber (unfortunately)

Cabaret portrays Nazis as bad people. The people offended by Dylan are already offended by Cabaret.

The OP was probably expecting to get a rise out of people by saying a trans woman was auditioning for Sally, but forgot the sort of people who post here (theatre nerds with way too much time on our hands) would be less offended by Mulvaney being trans than by her being a TikTok celebrity.

It is inconceivable to me that they are going to put someone like Dylan Mulvaney in the role of Sally Bowles in a new, very expensive production of Cabaret. Why would they? Has Mulvaney actually acted (or sung) in anything?
I could see a gimmick like casting Mulvaney as Fraulein Kost or a member of the Kit Kat Club ensemble. Otherwise, early in the run, anyone who would likely pay to see Mulvaney would probably already be planning to see the show.
Mulvaney has Broadway credits under her belt already so not sure why this would be a shock other than the ridiculous “controversy” this year.

Definitely could be ensemble/understudy callbacks

My sentiments exactly.

Yeah...she has a pretty diverse array of roles that she has performed both on national tour and throughout California.
I think Dylan in the ensemble might throw off the balance of the show. She has a massive following and having a audience members scream over one ensemble member might distort the experience. But as Sally, a Sally alternate or Kost it could definitely work.
If they could get her to drop the cloying terminally positive act, I can visualize her making a very good Sally, actually, if she has the acting chops. She can sing, but Sally doesn’t require a strong singer; the role requires a tremendously good actor to work. Whether or not Dylan is able to deliver more than their usual schtick (she was in the ensemble of Mormon, which makes all the sense in the world) remains to be seen. And whether or not the director/producers want to open their prestige event production of Cabaret to open with an Academy Award winner and… a TikTok celebrity. And also whether or not there’s any veracity to the claim she’s in contention at all.

I hate to be that person and I will google, but who!

She has zero Broadway credits under her belt, actually. If you ask someone who has actually been on Broadway that it's somehow the same thing as touring, they will get pretty offended.
I think Dylan is wonderful and the way the horrible/gross/white trash/Kid Rock humans of the world behaved when she was on a can of beer (the horror!!!) was obscene. But, this woman handled it with grace, class, and love.
However, she isn't right for Sally.

It's not Sally, that role has already been cast. It can't be Kost, since she covers Schneider (and that will be the case here as well), so it's cast with someone a bit older. I find it hard to believe they'd cast her just as an ensemble member and disbalance the dynamic.
I heard a Sally rumor a few weeks ago that was so out of left field that I chose not to believe it, but now wondering if it's true...she'd probably be good (in a balls-to-the-wall way like in London), but even by off-Broadway standards isn't a star.
I'm most curious about who will play Kost and Schneider (for my money the best parts of the show).

First of all, LOL, no they won’t. Second of all, touring is more difficult in the big picture, so the wrong party would be ‘offended’.

"I played Aaron Burr in Omaha"
Yeah....nah. But go OFF!

This has to be a joke. A production contract is a production contract. In fact, there are universal swings who are playing parts in Hamilton in Omaha one week and on Broadway the next!

Could Dylan have been auditioning for the role of the emcee? I have seen a couple of productions where the performer played the role extremely androgonously…I could see that being more credible than Sally.

Hasn't it already been established that Eddie Redmayne is opening the show as the Emcee?
I don't think ATG is going to spend $15-$20M on opening CABARET (and completely renovating the August Wilson Theatre) and expect people to buy premium seats to see someone named Dylan Mulvaney in a leading role. Maybe in 6-7 years in the 12th replacement cast?

It depends on how big of a star the actress is who will be playing Sally. The bigger name that actress is, the more chance there is that the actor playing Emcee will not be an equal in terms of notoriety or fame. Someone really huge may not want to share top billing.

I haven’t heard about Redmayne. I think Mulvaney as Sally is preposterous, and thought that the emcee would not be as preposterous (I am assuming Mulvaney must have demonstrated significant talent somewhere, but actually have no idea): however, I still cannot imagine the producers opening on Broadway with a niche performer who is also unproven on Broadway.
What sane producer would open an expensive show with stunt casting in a major role.
