Now we have ''fatphobia'' this is not the case - both looks were designed to fit their physicality
Exactly. Thanks for posting Taffy. Thank god for common sense. Beanie signed off on her costume and Lea signed on off on hers. They each get to pick their own.
"The sexual energy between the mother and son really concerns me!"-random woman behind me at Next to Normal
"I want to meet him after and bang him!"-random woman who exposed her breasts at Rock of Ages, referring to James Carpinello
No has mentioned that the sleeves were removed for Julie, who had the same dress as Beanie originally. In light of what was said in the explanation when asked about the change in the costume, her response was they give me a costume and I wear it. Thus the life of a standby. They also changed Lea's shoes - Beanie's and Julie's are red - Lea's are gold.
One more thing I forgot to mention in my review in the Julie thread: she sung “Don’t Rain on My Parade” in Streisand’s original key and absolutely blew me away. Both Feldstein and Michele sing it a semitone lower.

The production treated Beanie like dirt, but this is such a reach: its SO MUCH MORE likely that Beanie wanted sleeves, and Lea doesnt.
Most of them are a tad more focused on the popculture moment of it all, but they all seemed to be complimentary (some even glowing) towards Lea and Tovah. Some even say that Lea, and her chemistry with Ramin, make the second act work or at least bearable.
I have to wonder if it's worth it to have the show formally re-reviewed? How "normal" is it for a recast/replacement to be reviewed? I ask because a cynical part of me wonders if the production team really wants to take the chance of any nasty reviews tanking any momentum the current show may be garnering.
I won the lotto for last night's show with Julie Benko. Took my mom since she really wanted to see this, and I had low expectations, but was excited to see Julie since everyone's been so positive of her. We sat Orchestra Right C2 & 4 (wow!!) and had a nice night. Julie and Tovah were standouts and really made the show.

Some/most of those arent really reviews. They report on her opening night, they round up audience/online reactions, but only the NYP really reviews the show.
Phillyguy said: "When is the show getting reviewed? I thought it was supposed to be around this week, but I wonder if it will get pushed back because of her COVID"
I read a statement last week that they were not going to allow press in for a review until the whole cast was back onstage. A lot out were out with Covid.
Also, Lea will be interviewed on "The Broadway Show with Tamsen Fadal"

Should they all be back by now? I thought Lea is the latest to get Covid, so everyone should have passed their 10 day quarantine. I assume they would want a few more "previews" prior to the re-review, so I'm wondering if they are pushing it back by a week.

The New York Post review from her first night says that press was invited back 3 weeks from then, which would be next week. Whether or not they've adjusted that because of Lea's absence is the question. In any event, she'll be performing on The Tonight Show next Friday, September 30.

That was scheduled some time ago. Julie had it on her IG. I heard Ephie did a great job when she went on. She's a lovely singer and dynamite tap-dancer. She's also adorable!
