Just checking back on this thread for the 1st time today, so here goes:

Yes, and that's precisely the source of my frustration. Note my use of the word "continue." Because this has been an ongoing problem particularly surrounding this show.
specialkape: "I mean, this is literally a discussion board? To discuss anything people would like to discuss, within the rules of the boards. No need to be dismissive or rude; why is that something you chose to do? What did it do for you - make you feel good to be mean?"
I apologize for my tone coming off as mean or rude. I put a lot off effort into remaining polite and respectful on this board, but I do sometimes have moments of lapsing. Even so, I stand by the content of my post, and the emphatic intention behind it.
People are welcome to discuss whatever they please, but that doesn't preclude it from being irresponsible, or preclude me from expressing that it's irresponsible. In the past few months, with this show in particular, we've seen that there are consequences to our words/actions on this board. People on this board invented a narrative that Jane Lynch left the show to avoid performing with Lea Michele. It was just speculation, but it spiraled out to the point where Jane Lynch literally released a public statement saying it wasn't true. And there were other cases exactly like that in the past few months alone.
I do believe that the behavior of public figures is up for public discussion. What I take issue with is people immediately assuming it's true just because it was rumored on TikTok, when this production has proven to be a hot-bed of petty rumor-mongering, which, as noted above, has the potential to yield actual consequences for people in that workplace.
I'll admit that there's a difference between an actual rumor, and a piece of speculation that becomes widely mistaken for a rumor, but I still think we should be mindful of how we respond to a situation on which we're almost entirely in the dark. If some of these ensemble members decide to speak publicly about this, I'll change my tune.

I can't tell if you're being facetious, so I won't put too much effort into this response, but suffice it to say: you're welcome to discuss any piece of information or pseudo-information that you come across, but none of that makes it your business. Having said that, see my paragraph above: if there were, in fact, a book written by someone who was in the room, I might feel somewhat differently.
