I guess Mezz Center B is great but $200 for a ticket may be too much"
Row Y is too far under the mezzanine overhang, and $129 for it is highway robbery. Row Q is fine, but if I was going to spend $159 for it, I’d just spend the extra $40 and get the mezzanine row B seat.

Thanks, I guess that will be my $200 show of this trip, like Hamilton Last time lol
I decided to check some matinees in May. Many tickets are available, good seats for $99. This is a very affordable and still very available show right now, unless you must see an early preview in a perfect seat. If it's eventually to be a hard ticket, this is the moment to buy. Again, for those who must have coveted center sections in the orchestra, ignore this post. But many will be happy to find nice seats. And who's to say that the many $39 tickets aren't a gift to those who'd otherwise miss the show. It's not playing in an especially large house.

They released some “partial views” seats from Row A to Row F for $129.
I wonder if Mezz Row K for $109 is better than those seats? Row D in Both Right or Left (is there a better side in the August Wilson? I saw Mean Girls in Row A right for rush and liked a lot) seems better to me.
Would prefer facial expressions than see, like, the entire show

FYI, I posted in the discounts thread that there’s a 15% discount on SeatGeek this weekend with code SPRING22 at checkout.

FUNNY GIRL was a Broadway musical based on the life of Jewish performer Fanny Brice. It was adapted into a 1968 film. Like many Broadway shows and films, it uses the life of someone as it’s source material.

Tyne sang the role just fine. I have seen every "well-sung" and "well-acted" Rose since and including Tyne and have enjoyed them all (I'm sorry not many in America ever got to see Caroline O'Connor's Rose in Leicester, England, possibly the best since Tyne) but just because she doesn't have Patti or Bernadette's voice, doesn't mean she didn't have a great instrument herself. And whatever she lacked in voice compared to the other's, she made up for in perfection in acting.
Now, you may have only heard her cast album which is remarkably abysmal, because she was very sick the week she was required to sing it (or saw her the show in the week's preceding).
Sorry, I know this is a Funny Girl forum, but I felt the need to defend my Tyne.
I saw Daly in LA and then twice on Broadway. She never stopped working on her Rose, and as she gained vocal confidence the performance grew in many ways. It was ultimately one of the best Gypsys. We can suspect that Feldstein will use the previews to find out what is required of her to ignite 12 songs or parts of songs 8 times a week. We can gather that the creative team saw genuine magic. And know that delivering the score is a first tier responsibility in taking on the role. The songs are now standards; they must land, they must in some capacity stop the show. Everyone is on board with that or the commercial prospects are diluted out of the gate. I’d like to think we’ll be pleasantly surprised.

For decades, I have dreamed of seeing a stage production of Funny Girl. And now, I could not be happier that I will not be seeing this production. This is an easy "pass" for me.
Good lord. First preview isn't even for another week and the level of micro-analyzing and criticizing of this production (which nobody on here has seen a wink of outside of a literal screenshot or a quick clip) is astounding and absurd. It reads like many of you are hoping this will fail.
I'm eagerly awaiting my ticket to this and I hope it turns out to be a smashing success.

While I do think it’s upsetting they don’t have a full orchestra(I couldn’t see a string section in that video), it’s not really surprising. Unless it’s a Scott Rudin show or Lincoln center the orchestra is going to be as small as possible.

I’ve been here since 2003. It’s fascinating whenever someone voices stun or outrage that posts are speculative and presumptive in nature. We come to wonder out loud, our curiosity triggering our Broadway experience-backed imaginations. It’s a board where sheer guess work has always been part of the fun. When we’re wrong, we’re certainly corrected. But it’s a safe space for a special kind of affectionate parlor game: “Will this work? Will it fail?” Careers aren’t damaged, shows run or they don’t, no matter what these posts opine.

Whoever asked about strings –– the second photo of that post is literally a "Violin 1" book.
Re: MDs playing keyboard –– some MDs prefer to also play instead of stick-conducting, regardless of the size of the ensemble. And as you can see from Michael Rafter in that video (where he isn't actually playing), he's very likely playing Key 2...ancillary stuff, string "sweetener," etc.

Here’s the string section that was quickly seen when camera panned left. The video stayed center so you couldn’t see the left side of the room, which had the strings and brass musicians.

...and don't forget click-bait, non-teaser video like: VIDEO: Beanie Feldstein, Ramin Karimloo, and More in Rehearsal For FUNNY GIRL, which made me think I would see footage of Beanie Feldstein, Ramin Karimloo, and More in Rehearsal For FUNNY GIRL, but was really just a headline stating that they were in rehearsals (duh...), with no content of anyone actually rehearsing.
So... not "a wink" of anything to demonstrate that this production is gonna be great, and deceptive click-bait masquerading as "promo" for the show.
