the lack of one for avenue q makes the opening funny with the *******SPOILER****** extremely loud music just randomly beginning. I always found that hilarious, not to mention it's one of the few humorous aspects of the live show that isn't embedded in the obcr

Not an actual one, but at the Signature in VA the box office people were talking about a new warning with some of the front of house people. My favorite one from that was:
"Welcome to the Signature Theatre. Please turn off all cellphones and beepers. There is to be no audio or video recording during the show and if we catch you - we will take it. If it is a crappy voice recorder, we will give it back at the end of the show but if it is an iPhone, we are keeping it. Thank you and enjoy the show."
They have interesting fun ways to tell you to turn off your cell phone.

I can't remember exactly what Dame Edna said, but before her last show, her voice came on and said something so the effect of, "So please feel free to eat all the candy you want and don't hesitate to make all the noise you want when unwrapping it." She went on about cell phones, pagers, encouraging people to use them, then capped it off with words to the effect that the police would be summoned immediately and that offenders would be arrested on the spot and condemned to life in prison.
The Cry Baby one is pretty fun!

I remember that for ... it was Sister Act, I think, they said that nuns didn't wanted to be taken in picture and that the pope didn't wanted to hear anything else that choir's music (so no cellphones) ! This one was funny!
But also, for "Dance of the Vampires", they said (for the pictures), that the vampires were really sensitive to lights, especially lights from cameras! And for the rings they said they hate listening to little noise... and if we don't respect that, ... we will never get out of the theatre !!
Yeah, also for Les Miz : "During French Revolution, nobody knew what were cameras and cellphones, so do not affraid the characters by showing them something they don't know in 1789..."
I LOVE pre-show announcements ! :)
Kinky Boots, and Matilda at the top of Act 2
Wow someone jumped in the wayback machine for this thread.
SISTER ACT's was different, if I recall correctly, and it was one of my favorites. It was simply Fred Applegate's Priest saying, "The use of cell phones or any recording device of any kind is a sin."
Ha! I love Shrek's because Julie Andrews did it and Cinderella where they said "in the land of Rodgers and Hammerstein, there are no phones..."

They also didn't know about Les Miz in 1789 because it didn't take place then.
what was the shrek one?
Living On Love's one is kinda good as it is in broken Italian .

The broadway version of Hedwig is one of my favorites!
I'm upset at myself for not ending the first sentence of this thread with a question mark 8 years ago. Sorry about that.

I still think the one from Rock of Ages kicks ass: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to “Rock Of Ages.” I’m David Coverdale from Whitesnake and I invite you to an evening of musical debauchery and decadence. And just a reminder that flash photography and recording devices is strictly prohibited. Unless of course you are really really hot and willing to show us your breasts. Furthermore, all cellphones should be turned off, text messaging during the show makes you look like a douchebag, and if you have one of those “blue tooth” things in your ear... Please, come on. You look like a dick. Oh yes, and lastly, in case of fire, please refrain from singing Def Leppard’s “Pyromania” as we couldn’t get the rights to any of their music. Thank you and enjoy having your face melted.
I love the one for Gentleman's Guide!
