I loved the vocal performance of the number they did at the Grammys just now, but it was unappealing to me. I wonder if it got the music industry folks interested or not...
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

I agree. An interesting song, but gave no insight on how the show will unfold. Naturally, I'll reserve judgement as i don't know the album, but based on this one song it seems like another Spring A. rocked out. I think I'd be more interested in something Lady Gaga or Beyonce would produce for Broadway. There's so much theatricality to what they do.
I think the cast sounded wonderful! So beautiful! Made me even more excited to go see it! I really hope this musical doesn't disappoint me. I have such high hopes and such an emotional connection to the music.
It served its purpose in making me much more interested in the show than I was two hours ago. No idea how it works in context, but it was very impressive vocally.
Wait: they 'sold out' for allowing their music be brought forward into a B'way Musical? Hm.
Not that you could tell ANYTHING about it from the b'cast...but still.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
Green Day's been selling out since 1994. This is not a big revelation but people act like it whenever they do something like perform with U2 before a major sporting event, have another album out, or if their song closes out the finale of a big hit TV show. This is no different.
EDIT: Not saying they sold out as I'm a fan. I hate the self-righteous and indignant people who have been yelling 'SOLD OUT!' at them like they made a discovery.

I don't understand the concept of selling out. The band has the opportunity to share their music with lots of people in a variety of contexts (and make a pretty penny while doing it) - how is that a bad thing?
I know it's early, but is there a video out there yet??
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
I absolutely loved it and by the time it was over I was yelling at my husband because we don't have a damn American express card to buy the stinking tickets already!!! Now I don't even know GreenDays music my over the top reaction was all because of Tony Vincent and his awesomeness!! LOL Yea I know I sound like a fangirl but on a serious note no one knows how much the man helped through when I was diagnosed with my disability and I was in excrutiating pain 24/7 and only a few voices could help me get past the pain and he was one of them..it was a rough time and I lived through thanks to him. Now I am reduced to acting like a teenager for the rest of my life when I see him sing!! LMAO Oh and I seriously love Aspens voice too!!
kover- I don't have an amex card either, so I bought an american express gift card to get tickets. (I couldn't wait until the 14!) There was only a slight delay - they contacted me the next day to confirm because there was no billing address attached to the gift card.
You can buy a gift card through the american express web site. I got mine through a westfield mall so I didn't pay shipping charges.
Ughhh, I want to see this sooooooo badly. It looks a-mazing. Now I just need to save up for airfare to NYC, a hotel room, and tickets. Anyone want to help? :)
