My vote for funniest song goes to...
"Getta Load of Toad" from A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD
Is it really not "knight" because if it's not then I bet there are a lot of perverts over the years who have thought it was!

All about Ruprecht or Ruffhousing with Sniffhausen. Sorry, Gav, I can't choose.

Springtime for Hitler
ok, so clearly all the funniest songs, (except A little Priest) have been written in the last three seasons...
my personal preference, though, is probably Sondheim & Sinatra's 'The Boy From...'
'Why do his friends call him Lilian?'

"ok, so clearly all the funniest songs, (except A little Priest) have been written in the last three seasons"
RENT ("Over The Moon" mentioned several times) was written in 1990's
A CHORUS LINE ("Dance: 10; Looks:3" mentioned) was written in 70's
CHICAGO ("Class" and "Cell Block Tango" mentioned) was written in 70's
Also mentioned were songs from ONCE UPON A MATTRESS, COMPANY, INTO THE WOODS, GUYS AND DOLLS, FLOWER DRUM SONG, I CAN GET IT FOR YOU WHOLESALE, LES MISERABLES...
The funniest songs I have ever heard are:
"I Rise Again" - On the Twentieth Century
"The Gospel According to King" - My Favorite Year( and pretty much all of the songs from that show)
"Fat & Greasy" - Ain't Misbehavin(and you have to throw in "You're Feets Too Big" also)

Mother-In-Law from WELCOME TO THE CLUB or A Little Priest from SWEENY or Everyones A Little Bit Racist from AVE Q
I thought "Find Your Grail" was pretty damn funny. And "The Song that Goes Like This". I can't really think of anymore...
I'll give another vote to "Big Ass Rock" and "Man" from The Full Monty.
Definately "Over The Moon" - the look on my best friend's face when she first heard it wis PRICELESS! LOL! And the Maureen I saw was pretty damn good too! Oh, and "Mama I'm A Big Girl Now" ALWAYS makes me laugh at Amber's parts! LOL!
Either "The Internet is for Porn" or "My Unfortunate Erection".

Hilarious on stage!
Tons from Spamalot, but I've always been fond of His Name is Lancelot.

I laugh everytime I hear "The Song That Goes Like This" From Spamalot. "Keep It Gay" is a very close second.

BIG ASS ROCK from the Full Monty gets my vote!
Everyone's a Little Bit Racist-Avenue Q
Keep It Gay-The Producers
You'll See Boys-Rent
What was "Alto's Remorse" from? Do you remember. There was a girl who sang that at State and it was HILARIOUS!
I have been told it's not actually from a musical and isn't it called Alto's Lament?
A Little Priest, Springtime for Hittler and All About Ruprecht are my 3.

I hear wild rumours that there were funny songs written even as far back as 1970!

good choice of words, clearly (?) referring to 'some', not all, of the contributions on this thread...

Pick almost any song by Cole Porter. If your heart doesn't ache, your sides will--sometimes at once.
zanna songs are pretty funny. well, not the funniest. i agree with keep it gay (but also nothing is too wonderful to be true (when norbert comes in))
This is a very tough question, but I'm somewhere between "Betrayed" from The Producers, "The Song that Goes Like This" from SPAMalot, and "Popular" from Wicked... all VERY funny songs... and of course there's always "Planet Schmanet Janet" from Rocky Horror that I love...
