"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."
--Aristotle
Yes, please break a leg. Maybe two. Yeah, make that two.
*And I mean literally.
"I mean, sitting side by side with another man watching Patti LuPone play Rose in GYPSY on Broadway is essentially the equivalent of having hardcore sex." -Wanna Be A Foster.
"Say 'Goody.' Say 'Bubbi.'" ... "That's it. Exactly as if it were 'Goody.' Now I know you're gonna sing 'Goody' this time, but nevertheless..."

I chose, and my world was shaken- So what? The choice may have been mistaken,
The choosing was not...

Wow I can't believe how negative everyone is. He's worked hard for this and is making his debut tonight in a hit show. I'd think you'd all identify with him.
I wish him luck, but really he worke hard for this? Did he get up and take acting, dancing and singing classes for years? Did he go to Broadway auditions every morning for years? Did he work his way up from Dinner Theatre to Summer Stock to National tours? Did he work in any Broadway chorus singing 8 shows a week for Broadway minimum?
Some of you guys can be real horses asses, you know?
Taylor Hicks has never done anything except win a contest none of you have the talent to enter, let alone face Simon. If Simon says you got no talent, MAYBE we'll take it as serious critism, but for you guys to go after someone BEFORE he debuts, it's Dear SH*T time. So sew up the stupid yapholes and give the guy a chance.
If he's underwhelming, then you can make the snide comments.
I could care less about Taylor Hicks. I don't love him and I don't hate him. As far as I'm concerned he simply exists. But I'm ready for the end of his run to get here and for his fans to go far, far away. I don't hate him but I do hate his fans.
"All our dreams can come true -- if we have the courage to pursue them." -- Walt Disney
We must have different Gods. My God said "do to others what you would have them do to you". Your God seems to have said "My Way or the Highway".
Ok, he won AI last year and he decides to take a role in this piece of **** production? Could he really find nothing better to do? Like maybe tour, or maybe start working on another album, or take a break for a few months? How this career move made sense to anyone is beyond me.
And by the way I have nothing against Taylor, this just confuses the hell out of me.
Rant, Wickud, Rant, Wickud, Rant! We're not gonna pay Rant! 'Cause everythink is Wickud!
"Leave Walt Disney Theatricals new sparkling production of The Little Mermaid on Broadway alone!!!"
