I know seating questions are annoying... but here’s a seating question!
I’m in the Orch Row D on the far far side. I’m worried it’s too close and some of the illusions will be spoiled. Has anyone sat that close yet?
Thanks!!

I sat in orchestra B and no illusions were spoiled; in fact we felt like we were part of it since we were so close.

I had a friend in Row G of the orchestra on the far side and she didn't seem to think the view was too bad. She said it was a little too close and too far over, but I don't think she missed anything major.
I heard from a friend who works there that there really isn't a bad seat in the house.
My friend and I went to the last row of balcony and the view there is fantastic overall. Full view. The theater is so beautiful that the stage from there looks more like a diorama. Sure, facial expressions will be hard to see but the atmosphere and magic etc. can all still be seen and felt.
I'll be seeing the play again in early June and the actor I'll be closely looking at then will be Jessie Fisher, who performed as Delphi Diggory in the first preview. I saw the West End production back in fall 2016 and absolutely loved it. In the first Bway preview, I felt all the main characters' timing was great though did feel Jessie was a bit off on some parts. She's one of the actors who didn't perform in the West End production so I understand it takes time to get the chemistry/timing right with fellow cast members and I only wish her the best! :)
Wick3, I keep on forgetting about Delphi! Harry Potter fans either like her or hate her, but I really enjoy the character and am looking forward to seeing her onstage.
I don't remember her from the books.

She’s not in the books. She’s the age of Harry’s son in the play.

She is among the new characters written for the play. She is a Diggory and a friend of Albus’, as well as other students like Polly Chapman, Craig Bowker Jr, etc who are Hogwarts students.
uncageg, if you don't know her, leave it that way. You'll find out about her and other characters when you see it live soon.

Actually, she's not the same age as Albus and Scorpius; she's older - a point that they made a few times throughout the play.

They rotate the full performance (Part 1 and Part 2). For instance, Will and Brooklyn did Final Dress - Part One & Part Two, and then Landon and Olivia did the First Preview - Part One & Part Two. And actually, the character which Brooklyn and Olivia plays doesn't appear during Part 2.

I can't, actually, buy the....
twist of Voldemort having a child with Bellatrix. Also, the time travel thing is kinda lazy, thats the reason that I don't think I can say the show has ''good writing''.
The entire productions tho is amazing and worth of the ticket adm.

I agree with you MadsonMelo!! I cant buy everything you said also. I dont like the script at all except once scene from what I remember. The reasons I am most excited to to see all these effects and Anthony Boyle

I made the mistake of doing a google search on her...
Seeing it in May and trying to stay away from spoilers. I should have waited for your replies to my post!

Could you please say (in a spoiler box) which characters you're referring to?

Was at the first performance previews and this was as magical as I knew it would be.
I was able to get four sets of tickets and was seated at Balcony Row F. The stage from there is beautiful. The renovated Lyric Theater is simply magnificent. They really outdone themselves for being the home of Cursed Child with the ornate wallpaper to the decor and all the embellishments adorning the lobby.
The first part is the more showier and flashier of the two. Having no knowledge of the play except for it taking place in the future and being a serious fan of the books, it was fascinating to watch it all unfold on the stage. The illusionist effects and transitions were seamless and the acting from the cast was great including Anthony who plays Scorpius. Considering there were a total of 18 Broadway debuts, I thought the cast more than held its own. The end of the first part gave me serious goosebumps and I fanboyed like crazy with cousin once it said "to be continued."
The second part story wise gets a little too much and the tension isn't as potent even though they try to make it so. Much like Angels, the second part doesn't breeze as fast as the first. But honestly because having knowledge of the original source material, this felt lighter story wise. I freaking loved it and wonder how it will hold up after repeated viewings which I'll do most likely. The audience really ate this up and there was so much clapping between scenes it got to be a tad too much. It's because the theater was mostly filled with the Harry Potter diehards haha.
After both parts you get "keep the secrets" pins and each one is a different design. Its also two different playbills so do take both if you're collecting. Can't wait to see this again.
Anyone on here attending tonight and tomorrow's previews?

Albus and Scorpius. It was damn-near a blinking neon sign that they're in love with each other (in the written text, anyway) ... and the plot seems to rely heavily on that fact... but it wimps-out at the end with Scorpius asking Rose out.

Honestly, the fact that they didn't get together at the end made me lose my mind. This show is basically Harry Potter fan fiction, and you're not gonna have a gay romance? That's the staple of fan fiction!

Well...
They play up the Albus crushing on Delphi thing a bit, too, with Scorpius crushing on Rose. But there are definitely moments in the show where they is the underlying hint of a relationship between Albus and Scorpius (ie. "hide in a hole with you for all of eternal" line; the whole staircase ballet, etc.) However, it's not "in-your-face". At least not how Sam and Anthony play the characters.

I'd heard rumors to that effect, so wanted to know if those were the two characters you were alluding to. Disappointing that it doesn't happen.

I don't know why my spoiler boxes always end up blank.
Re the romantic pairing that didn't happen:
The point of that relationship was that they love each other. The nature of that love wasn't important. There was no indication that it was or wasn't romantic. Friendship is often deeper and more powerful than romance. The fact that it wasn't romantic/sexual doesn't make it any less powerful. I guess if you read a lot of fanfiction and view the play as fanfiction (which it is not) then you'll have certain expectations and possibly feel disappointed, but it's not a flaw in the play.
