I’m personally much more interested in this than A Beautiful Noise, which I haven’t seen. I can’t stand BIO jukebox musicals, but I’m always excited to see good music telling a new original story. That being said, I hated &Juliet and absolutely loved Once Upon a One More Time.

Actually, I think 100 random people would say "Heart of Rock and Roll" first and then maybe "I Want a New Drug"."
See, my brain immediately goes to "Hip To Be Square"...but that's just because I have the entire monologue from AMERICAN PSYCHO memorized.

How terrible. Does this last until the Tony Awards?

Is it? The video is just a "group" of guys singing in a living room and a small bar? Other than the clothing there's really nothing 80's going on. As if the people who put the video promo together never lived in the 80's.
The only way I can see this working if it's a Rock of Ages/Xanadu style send up of the material. I'm just not seeing that sort of tongue-firmly-in-cheek self-awareness going on in the marketing so far.
"...everyone finally shut up, and the audience could enjoy the beginning of the Anatevka Pogram in peace."

I grew up in the '70s-'80s and I immediately recognized the style of the video as resembling something that would have come out back then, so, yes, I think that was what they were going for. Many of them had a similar low-budget feel, with random incongruous settings that had nothing to do with the lyrics of the song.

Yes, I know. I also grew up then. I was addicted to MTV. There's a slight hint in this. If they were going for an 80's vibe then neon, fog and a random white horse walking through the shot would have been great and hilarious choices.
Ugh that was painful to watch! At least they could have tried adding a VHS effect to that music video, it would have looked like an 80s clip. Also, there's nothing rock n' roll in that video. I fear this will flop harder than 'Almost famous'
