Quite a bit. For example, during the Harmonia Gardens Restaurant scene I couldn't even see Vandergelder and Ernestina's private dining room (which was a real pity because Jennifer Simard is hilarious). And I also couldn't see most of the antics Cornelius and Barnaby went through trying to avoid being seen by Vandergelder in the hat shop. Lastly, I heard the cheers when Dolly came down the stairs before I could see her.
For Act II I stood up next to my chair, against the wall, and was able to see better. If your box seats are by the rail, you should have a better view of the action that happens on the right side of the stage.

The box seats should be sold as partial view. Or they should designate them as lottery tickets or rush. But selling them full price is outrageous. That is not to say that if you've bought them already you should give it a second thought or dwell on buyers remorse. You will be really close and it is such a good show. But as someone else said "buyer beware "!
@Miz Marnie; Friday night you must have sat by my friend Stuart. Big guy. Dark hair and beard . I was in the rear balcony and he is the reason I went again. He was upset by the seat and supposively is writing a letter. I guess it can't hurt.
Dame, I believe I did sit next to your friend last night! We spoke briefly, and he told me that he had seen Carol Channing as Dolly in 1995. Cool! It sounds like he felt the same way about his seat as I did mine. Even though he missed seeing all of the show, I hope he still mostly enjoyed it.
He loved it and we are both going again with friends in August. Spent a pretty penny on prime seats. My obsession with this production is draining my bank account .

Damn right Dame. This production is ~ PURE BLISS ...Bette is Sensational.
Seeing it 2 more x before it closes.

Sunday in the Park with George
What an evening of pure joy at the theatre! THIS is Broadway at its best. My first time seeing Bette live and the 7 hour drive and hundreds of dollars paid for tickets was absolutely worth it!
-Bette is just so much damn fun. You literally can't take your eyes off her, and she rewards you for your attention with hysterical facial expressions and physical comedy. Her speaking voice did sound strained at times (not in a distracting way). She sounded a bit horse/sick... and she did not come out to sign. A worker said she didn't feel well and had already left. With that said, her singing was beautiful. She's not a 'belter' like she may have been years ago, but she still fits this role perfectly. The little Bette vocal nuances she adds here and there are just so damn beautiful.
-Funniest part of show was during the already hysterical eating scene when Bette accidentally knocked over her drink. She totally took advantage of the situation to play with the audience. When the glass fell over, you could hear the audience gasp. So what does she do? She mimics the 'gasp' back with her hand gestures and facial expression and said "That's show business" and "You interrupted me!" The house lost it in laughter. Love. Love. Love.
-I thought her 'talks' with Ephraim were touching without being corny. I thought her final scene with Horace when they finally dance was surprisingly moving for me.
-She was clearly having FUN during the title song. I was disappointed my far left seats kept me from seeing the top of the staircase (among other things). I was also a bit disappointed in the audience. The front middle orchestra didn't give a standing O after the title song. My section, thankfully, all but lept to our feet.
-The entire cast is perfection. Especially loved Barnaby, Minnie and Ms. Money.
-The costumes for Sunday Clothes - Wow.
-David Hyde Pierce is such a class act. He came out and walked the ENTIRE perimeter, signing and taking pictures for a good 20-25 minutes. What a great, great guy.
-I was hoping they would have done the finale (snipets of songs) as part of the show instead of as the bows.
-God bless the ushers. They were relentless cellphone watch dogs.
I will be rooting for this show in every category come Tony night.
Does anyone know if you see the top of the staircase from the rear of the orchestra? My partner is so excited about seeing the show and keeps talking about Bette walking down the stairs. It was his favourite moment from the Kiss My Brass concert when she descended to 'Hello Delores' in her fish tail on a chair lift. Unfortunately he is in a wheelchair so we are relegated to the last row of the orchestra but will be centre (T101,102) and I am a bit concerned about the Mezzanine overhang. I wanted to prepare him if there are sight problems because due to his dementia it takes a bit longer to get the message though, so I don't want to have to explain if not necessary. Thanks!

Not sure if this will help, but I was center Orchestra, row Q, and had a great view of that wonderful scene.

Go with E14 better view for most of the show and Bette's eating scene :)
See attached view from F12 Orch (Matilda) that will give you a perspective.
"
Thanks a lot! This definitely helped give me a good idea. I already saw this and got a full, open view from Orchestra center Q, so it will be fun to be up close this time :)

Did Gavin come out and sign/take pics with the crowd? I'm seeing it in less than 3 weeks and really hope to meet him afterwards
I went Saturday night row M-10/12/14 views were fine don't miss anything...the show was amazing Bette was Bette and killed it and I have never smiled so much during a show...amazing. David Hyde Pierce was just as good as were the supporting charactes..I LOVE Kate Baldwins voice ..started off low and boom hit every not possible..so underrated amazing..the colors and sets ..this show is a 10 plus 10 it is so good...now my only complaints...the audience...WHY WOULD YOU WEAR YOUR HAIR UP IN A PONYTAIL on top to see a show...geez the man beside me had to sit sideways because this woman had a huge ponytail ..very rude.. Please please please do not do this when someone has to sit behind to see.......also a family was behind me a 16 and 13year old boys who started to fist fight with each other before the show started ..the mother was pretty much the instigator and was basically telling the 16year old "wait til I tell my friends my 16 year old got his 13 year old brother mad and he got hit" WTF is wrong with parents...the daughter kept kicking the man beside me chair and complaining her bum hurt from the booster....I finally just turned around and said ENOUGH and they all looked scared and stopped...rude rude rude
My daughter went Friday night and also had rude people sitting directly behind her. They were talking and singing loudly through the whole show. They were told many times to stop but they didn't. These people seriously think the behavior is ok!
Ughhh, how I wish I could see this again! A) because it's amazing. Truly all of it. From Bette to every chorus member. And don't even get me started on the chills I had during Sunday Clothes. A highlight of just about any Broadway show I've seen.
But B) because I agree with other posters, the audience was QUITE distracting. The ushers are doing their best, but LOTS of cell phones and cameras. I saw someone removed from a box seat after a house manager had to come back a second time to tell them to put their phones away. I was surrounded by a rather large group who sang along (and I'm talking SANG) to every song. I understand their enthusiasm and how much this show (and Bette) means to people, but it got to a point where after each song they would continue to talk and giggle as the next scenes were beginning.
It can't ruin an absolutely perfect show, but I definitely could have lived without it.
I saw this on Thursday night, Row O 3 & 4. I must say first off if you are in this row BECAREFUL! there was a tack or something sharp sticking out of the chair in the row infront of this row (row N?) from the second seat. When I went to get into my seat the guy in the second seat in my row barely moved and I brushed up against the back of the seat and tore my pants. Luckily it didn't cut my skin but it will surely rip anything.
I enjoyed this show a lot. I was most surprised at DHP. He was truly wonderful and brought something to Horace that I hadn't ever seen before. Then there's Bette. She is enjoying her time in this row and the audiences are loving it. I guess I'm more of a traditionalist because while I loved the show and glad I got to see it I wasn't all that "Best show I ever saw in my life" person. It was good. I never realized how much the actors talk to the audience, I guess I just forgot which is why I accepted Bette playing to the audience. I don't like breaking the fourth wall, in character is one thing, but she broke it a couple of times once while eating with Horace (the lettuce didn't move to the plate like it was supposed to so she said "that's why it's live folks) and in the title song she held onto the stage right wall like she was exhausted.
They clearly threw a lot of money at this show and it shows. The costumes, sets and drops were all glorious and beautiful. This show is not about a heavy subject people WANT to see costumes and sets and drops and it didn't disappoint. The cast was great too. All in all a great night at the theatre (except for the torn pants).
Just an aside on the breaking the fourth wall. At "If/Then" Idina went up during one of the solo numbers and no one would have know since she put her head down and the music cut off a few bars after she stopped singing. It wasn't until the next scene when someone else carried on something from a previous scene and Idina said "Did you bring that out because I f&*$*d up my last song?" The audience laughed but I thought it was way unprofessional.
I believe Row H far left might have a restricted view at times. I sat in Row H Left the other day, but on the aisle and it was fine, but the further down that row some people were craning their necks.
the day the tickets went on sale, i put a reminder in my calendar. but I had a work meeting that took longer than expected and by the time i purchased, the best seats were J 10-12. as someone who is used to sitting center and close up, i am concerned that these seats are too far to the side. I prefer seeing faces close up to the full staging but I guess in this case i'll be seeing the latter.
from what i'm reading in other posts, the row should be ok but wondering if anyone out there knows what the view is like from these locations. if it was any other show i'd try to swap them for something better, but as we know that'a not easy with a hit like this, especially since i am visiting from out of town.

"Thank you so much for this info! I ended up getting some Row M Left Orch a couple seats in but still pretty far down. Hope the view will be ok. Either way, it's sure to be an amazing show! Thanks again for your reply!
