Ham4Ham live is for the Wednesday matinee performance, first row/SRO

Wednesday evening SRO is not included.  Those are sold to the cancellation line.

On Tue, I made the mistake of REALLY WANTING a souvenir cup.  So I bought a Pepsi for it.  I said to myself "Don't drink it Viv!  You're gonna have to go to the bathroom".  I had one sip, then two, and it was so delish that by the end of act one, I just felt my bladder crying, LOL!  At intermission, I went down to the bathroom and FUGGEDABOUDIT!  The line, insane and i didn't want to miss Daveed's entrance in the second act (which my sister missed waiting on the bathroom line!).  I sat there dying through What'd I Miss, all the way through mid "We Know"--oh! it was torture!  I finally gave up and ran to the basement of the RRT to free myself of these liquids in me!  I could hear that Hurricane started.  I washed up and ran all the way back up to my seat--but not before stopping at the second level where I saw all of the SRO people.  I slowed down and stood next to them to see a bit of Hurricane from their view.  It looked beautiful!  except that the ceiling which is the floor of the mezzanine covers the second level of the stage.

SRO stands at the wall behind the last row of seats that are sloping upward.
There's a ledge you can rest your arms on--like hanging out looking through a window.

and the bottom pic is a sample of what the view is like, except more of the top stage cut off because you're after the last row and standing.

I hope this helps with any SRO questions anyone has!

(i made it back to my seat before The Reynold's Pamphlet!  DON'T BUY ANY SOUVENIR SODA CUPS TIL AFTER THE SECOND ACT!!!  LOL!)

I did! It was crazy. I had been in the cancellation line (pretty far back) hoping for single tickets possibly for the 8pm show (since many people in front of us said they were leaving if they didn't get tickets for the 2pm), when those popped up on StubHub. Immediately purchased them and ran to the 8th floor of the Mariott, printed them (while I struggled to even type in my email/password because I was shaking so much from the adrenaline, lol) and sprinted back to the Rodgers, getting there probably around 2:03 taking our seats about 2 minutes before the show started.

The face value on the printed tickets was actually listed as the $477 premium price, so it was a pretty cool feeling realizing I actually spent less than face value on Hamilton tickets!

NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL USING YOUR LEGS AND BRAINS! LOL!  I love that you did it that fast, so close to showtime and thank goodness they were instant download tickets!

I know exactly where the FedEx Kinko's is--I scoped it out back in April.  Do you just walk in and say you need to use their computers?  Educate me!  LOL! (Thumbs up!)

chelseaburnside said: "Hi everyone, I've been following this thread a while trying to plan for my own cancellation line attempts and I have a question. I know it is commonly agreed Wednesday is one of the worst days to try for cancellation tickets, but I had two friends get on the cancellation line for Wednesday (5/4) around 10am (they were around 25th in line), wait all day, and get standing room tickets about 15-20 mins before the show off the cancellation line. I haven't read many standing room stories on here but I didn't think their odds were good when they said they were going at 10am on a Wednesday and then when they wound up being 25th in line when they arrived and getting in for the 8pm show that night.

So I guess my questions would be, do standing room tickets just get turned down by people waiting for actual seats or premium tickets so often that people very far back in line are able to get them? Is this common or are they exceptions to the norm?
Thanks everyone!
"

I was on the cancellation line on Wednesday 5/4 and I remember a good number of people left the line after they didn't get matinee tix (mostly because they already had tickets for another show in the evening.) I think your friends were lucky that day. To my knowledge, I don't think many people turn down SRO. From what I heard, the standing room tix tend to be the last few tix sold  so it's either SRO or risk not getting to see the show. :/ Personally, I think the best sweet spot is SRO since it's only $40 versus $177.

BTW, I walked home at around 1:30am and passed by the RRT theater ---- and was surprised not to see any SOLD tents. Not sure if it's coincidental or not. I did see 2 people sitting on camp chairs outside the theater and a guy sleeping on cardboard. Perhaps they'll remove the chairs by 10am today.

Lol yup! I was such a mess it was kind of hilarious but the woman working there was very sweet. I basically ran in there and frantically shouted "how do I print something?!?" and she directed me to where the computers were and asked if I had just bought Hamilton tickets, so clearly not the first time this has happened there. There were several other people in there as well and they were all checking StubHub on the computers for last minute tickets, so I actually can't believe my luck that I happened upon those tickets on my phone before anyone in there did.

There's a little device right next to the computer to swipe your credit card in order to get on the internet, I forget the exact price but it was something like 20 cents a minute I think. So I did that, signed into my email to get the PDF of the tickets, and then you pay to print as well, with the printers being just on the other side of the room. I think it came out to like $4 total or something. And then you sign off and are good to go!

The seats were amazing, I ended up being just two seats over from where I saw it the first time after waiting in the cancellation line 12 hrs a couple months prior. With how long the wait there is now (at least with the line sitters, who knows depending on what happens with the new rules), this was the much better option and I'm looking forward to trying it again. I'm lucky to live just a train ride away from the city in CT, so I can try my luck with last minute tickets and just try again another time if I don't find anything.

LOL! WOW! I can imagine how many people have stormed in there saying "I have to print something!" I'd be a mess!  I was a mess when I bought that row B seat from home 5.5 hours BEFORE the show!   And wow! again!  those tickets were indeed for you!  And see you educated me sooo much that I didn't know one could surf last minute tickets in there, too.  When I was there in April, it was empty and didn't think there was anywhere to use the computers.  Thanks!

Haha no problem! I didn't think of that either, I think I may try that next time and refresh both on a computer there and on my phone, and then I'll be there to print if something comes up! Those of us who live close enough and have enough flexibility to give this multiple tries are very lucky with our options to see the show in a much more affordable way than most.

I passed by the line twenty minutes ago and the first 2 people have chairs (i think they're line sitters). The rest are young folks sitting on the steps. Maybe around 10 people on the line.

(A) Twice the in-person Wednesday matinee lottery has been cancelled (for Hamil-Kids).

(B) The on-line is open for every performance except Wed. matinee.  If there is a matinee performance on Sunday, then there will be an on-line lottery for that performance.  If there is an evening performance on a Monday, then there will be an on-line lottery for that performance.

(C) The ONLY place to get good an timely information is via the Twitter for Hamilton.  Their Facebook page does not have timely information.

Tonight a pair of orchestra seats, row M side, were just $300 each on Stubhub at around 7:45.  Just as a matter of information, is there anywhere near the RR theater where you could print that late?  I know someone mentioned the Marriott business center closes at 7.

I did cancellation line today and the new policy had to be self-policed by the line and the people further ahead of me had to make the RR staff enforce their own policy.  From what I could understand, a couple of line sitters had been at the front of the line.  One of their clients turned up at around 5pm and several people further in front of me who had been waiting all day pointed out that the client was swapping in. And they had photos on their phones to prove it.  I only arrived in the afternoon, but they had taken pictures or video or something of the line in the morning so they could prove that the guy had not been waiting there.  Originally the RR staff member was telling the people in front that the line sitting/swapping was fine even though it was obviously against the new rules (I think he was friends with the line sitters) until finally they had to bring the manager out who confirmed the new rules and did what the first RR guy wouldn't do and kicked the line sitters and their swappers out.  I managed to get a ticket (FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and obviously the other fans in front that had waited all day got them too.  But several people in front of me (and myself) would have missed out had the line sitters been able to buy tickets.  So the moral of the story is that the line has to police itself and enforce the policy with the RR staff to get rid of the line sitters. And take photos or videos or whatever throughout the day for proof of who is there.  The manager guy at RR also said that he'd be coming round in the early morning to take note of who was there, but I wouldn't rely on that.

so they actually kicked out the line sitters?  do we think that the lines now will get shorter? how long is needed to wait now to get in? (when did you get there) (i did 4am last week and didn't get in but there were also 3 line sitters...is that enough time now?) also is swapping with someone who is also seeing the show okay with the rules? as in if a friend and i are getting a pair together as one person can we swap out?

thanks!! (sorry about all the questions)

Wow!!

How many tickets (cancellation and lottery) were available tonight? What time did you arrive and what number ticket did you get?

I'm glad you were able to see the show and I guess this is good news for those wanting to get cancellation tickets (myself included), but I do feel bad for the SOLD guys. They are a super nice bunch of people and did legitimately wait all those hours... (not to mention the people that paid all that money.)  I don't know that I would have 'tattled' on them if I was there, but I guess the end of the line sitters was a long time coming...

From what I could hear, the RR told the clients trying to swap in to go to the back of the line seeing as they had just arrived and they told the line sitters they could buy tickets but they would have to then go in and see the show themselves.  I think the sitters initially said they would buy tickets themselves but then didn't.

I think the reason the people up front were willing to call out the swappers was because there was a woman waiting in line who had waited all day and her son had died of cancer and today was his birthday and she was trying to get tickets for her and her daughter.  When one of the people up front said this to the woman trying to swap in, I heard her say in a VERY nasty way "well, everyone's got a story."  And the woman whose son had died said back to her "Oh, so did your son die of cancer?"  So don't feel bad for the swappers. That couple were really awful.  The line sitters seemed to be nice guys, but if they went ahead with doing something that was against the new policy (and they clearly knew about the new policy in advance and so did their clients) then they only have themselves to blame for taking the risk.

I think the people in front of me who got regular tickets arrived between 3pm the day before and 1pm today.
I arrived at around 2pm and got in.  Apparently several people had already left the line when they got premium tickets earlier but these people in front of me were holding out for regular. Today's line was shorter than usual (which I think was because everyone was unsure how the new policy would work, including the line sitters).  I think whether you get tickets really depends on whether you're willing to pay for premium or whether people in front of you are. If you had arrived today at 4am you could have gotten either but that was because several premiums had become available earlier and several people were willing to pay for them.

Someone asked the RR about swapping with a family member/friend and I think they said that that was fine as long as both the people were going in to see the show.

I don't understand how you swapping with a friend is really any different then swapping with a line sitter...is the whole idea not "It's not fair that some are waiting the full amount of time when others only have to do it for a couple hours/half the time". As far as I understood, line swapping has not been allowed since March, so if someone hired a line sitter, the line sitter had to sit in the line for the entire time and also had to make the purchase. Then they added the rule that the person seeing the show had to buy the ticket, hence people meeting up with their line sitter before the tickets began to be distributed. And now the new rules.

Full disclosure, I have a line sitter hired for a show next week. I am anxiously waiting to see if they email me to tell me that they can no longer do it, but I emailed them yesterday and they assured me that all was well. I'm not sure that will be the case now. Clearly not all of the RR staff are agreeing upon what the new rules mean and yesterday the line sitters were under the impression that they would not be largely affected by the new rules.

Gangsta!  One has to speak up.  IDK why we all blanked out in March and let #7 go around and try to sell his spot for $100.  He sold it for $25.00 after being there for 12 hours and in 30 min, the purchaser had his single ticket and was on his way.

Terrible but if the RRT went as far as Tweeting their rules and not enforcing them, there is something wrong.  Self policing works to an extent until things get personal or whatever and the RRT just stands and watches.

I agree about the swapping between family members and friends being similar to having a line sitter (though they are probably slightly different and obviously you're not paying for a friend).  I personally don't think they should allow swapping of any kind. But I'm just saying what I think RR said to the lady who asked.
