I'm really disappointed because I wanted to see it on Broadway this spring since it is not scheduled to coming to Dallas next year. Still, congrats to the show for having an amazing run.
What is going into The Richard Rodgers?
Its gotta already be booked with something? Leap of Faith maybe?

I hope it can transfer back to Off-Broadway like "Avenue Q" did.
I'm very sad! But like everyone else said, this show had an amazing run and everyone involved should be very very proud of the work that they have put out!!!
I'm guessing Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo will be the next tenant at the RR.

I was wondering if it might eck it out until the movie opened, but that isn't looking to be for another year and a half at least, it seems.
I avoided this show for so long based on clips and performances I had caught. Just nothing about it appealed to me. I finally saw it about a year ago and was completely delighted. It's not the greatest book on earth, but it's so fantastically put together, the music is wonderful, and the cast was divine. I missed the chance to see Miranda because of my own hesitance, but I'll likely try to check him out over the holidays!
I could so kick myself! I made two trips from Louisville to NYC to see shows, and this one never made the final cut b/c there was always something I wanted to see a little more, and I guess I thought this one would be around forever!
Currenlty I am addicted to the recording!

Now I'll NEVER get to play Sonny... :'(
I guess I have to (annoy my parents to) buy my tickets for January.
Very pleasantly surprised when I saw this show. It was beyond sweet and congrats to everyone involved in its wonderful run!!
How not shocking in the slightest.

If Corbin Bleu was still in it it'd never close.
In the Heights was the first musical that I saw that was set present day and I thought it was amazing. it had a great run and I can't complain it played over 1000 performance. Count me in as an audience member on closing night.
Completely bummed, I expected it but I didn't want to believe it. If it moves Off Broadway I will be completely satisfied.
I was worried that this would happen. I love this show, and I hope that this will be Off-Broadway a few months after it closes. My family and I might be going back to NY, and I really wanted to see ITH again.
I am sad to see it close. So glad to have seen it twice with the original cast. In the Heights still remains one of my favorite shows.
It's most definitely moving OFF-Broadway once it closes on January 9th, 2011. It's called: THE LOCAL CINEPLEX.
The same joke in two threads on the same topic. Good one, Carlos.
It's just that funny that we needed to see it twice...
Why thank you C0CK.
