Who would it be?
Mine:
Clara (LITP)
Maureen (Rent)
(I'm planning to have daughters...)
"She Loves Me" has always been special to me, as it was while I was doing that show in high school that I "officially" decided that I was going to become an actor. I've often thought that if I ever have a daughter (and I hope I do) that I would name her after the main female character, Amalia (and call her "Molly" for short).
But let's see how my future wife thinks about that

B/c I'm apparently planning on having adorably neurotic Jewish sons lol.
I don't know if I especially love any girls names from musicals..I'll have to keep thinking.

I've already been planning on using Cosette as a middle name. She is not my favorite character, but I love the name. Les Mis is my favorite musical so I want to use that name in representation of my love for musical theatre.
Haha, I was gonna say Clara from Light in the Piazza.
Natalie - All Shook Up
Christine - Phantom of the Opera
Bobby - Urinetown
can't think now
Not a character, but if our first child had been a girl my wife and I were going to name her after Audra MacDonald.
More recently I have been pushing for Clara, should we have another girl.
Joanne-Company
Vera-Mame
Maureen-Rent
Aurora-Kiss of the Spider Woman
Valentin-Kiss of the Spider Woman
Giorgio-Passion
As you may guess from my avatar, I would definitely name one of my little girls Clara :0)
I'd also name a boy Charley with Merrily We Roll Along in mind.
although I will never have kids, yeah! because i am not too kid-friendly. I will just say a few names, because Ray wrote some...LOL
Ruth(Wonderful Town)
Amneris(Aida)
Marian(WIW)
Laura(WIW)
Pryia(Bombay Dreams)
Angel(The Rink)
Whor*(Amour), ok this last one is a joke.

I'll never have kids either, my partner is 44 years old so he has a "no babies for us" rule but this is fun so I'd do it:
Girls:
Fosca-Passion
Maureen-Rent
Eileen-Wonderful Town (maybe our hypothetical daughters can be best friends, muscle23)
Faye-Anyone Can Whistle
Boys:
Stephen for Mr.Stephen Sondheim of course.
Frederick-A Little Night Music
Cliff-Cabaret
Joel for Joel Grey, lol.
faith (bklyn)
skye (mamma mia)
angel (rent)
brooklyn (bklyn)
when i get my dog im naming it link or seaweed(if its black)
If I ever have a daughter, I want to name her "Beatrice" (from Much Ado About Nothing) But if I have another daughter, I will name her "Johanna" (from Sweeney Todd, duh!) Cause how great would it be to hear that song, and know you were named after it?
Mine are also not characters, but I sort of want to name my child, if it was a girl Audra Murphy (after Audra McDonald & Donna Murphy) and if I had another girl I'd name her Garland, after Judy, of course:)
I was thinking if I had a son I would name him Sondheim, but I would worry about him getting teased...
Well it wouldn't be Fanny that's for sure.
I really do love the name Idina. lol. I'm diggin Audra though too. Boy if I were a child, I would be honored to be named after that woman! Garland is also really pretty too!
Yeah, Joanna is really pretty. Maybe Bella, as in Bella from Rags, which actually means "beauty".
For guys, how about Bobby/Billy from almost every musical I can think of, or Julian from 42nd Street.
I too love the name Johanna, although it wouldn't go well with my last name if I named my daughter that.
