"People have their opinions and that doesn't mean that their opinions are wrong or right. I just take it with a grain of salt because opinions are like as*holes, everyone has one".
-Felicia Finley-
I'm reminded of why I love her so much. She always puts so much into her songs, and her acting (especially facial expressions) just always blows me away.
Jimmy, what are you doing here in the middle of the night? It's almost 9 PM!
Norm Lewis and Alexander Gemignani are better in the rehearsal video than they were in the show when I saw it. The ensemble is still great. I'm hoping that this means Lea's energy has given off a positive vibe to the other principles. I know I'll be visiting tkts soon to see this show again. I love Lea (had the privilege of seeing her close Miss Saigon) and hopefully by then the principles will have improved since I last saw it.
"Sing the words, Patti!!!!" Stephen Sondheim to Patti LuPone.
Seeing this video reminded me why I love Les Mis so much.
it has been my first musical-love, and i kinda put it aside, and the songs became too familiar to me, there was nothing new in any production i heard. but Salonga's performance really reminds why and how, this is a great musical, written to perfection (for its genre) and a top-notch score, made greater by great performers.
She is so wonderful. I cant wait to see her as Fantine. I think its going to be weird for the other actors hearing a nromal voice coming out of Fantine. Haha Oh Daphne. But anyway, Lea is amazing!!
"Men like me can never change,
Men like you can never change.
No,
24601.
My duty's to the law - you have no
Rights.
Come with me 24601.
Now the wheel has turned around,
Jean Valjean is nothing now.
Dare you talk to me of crime,
And the price you had to pay.
Every man is born in sin.
Every man must choose his way.
You know nothing of Javert.
I was born inside a jail,
I was born with s like you,
I am from the gutter too!"
~Javert
I've never been the biggest fan of Ms. Salonga, but I will say that she looks and sounds wonderful. I hope to see her very soon.
"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe."
-John Guare, Landscape of the Body
