Will all depend on how well the new cast sells. But fwiw the lead producer on New York, New York is the same lead producer as Piano Lesson, so it’s safe to say they may be open to another theater swap if the price is right."
I also wouldn't be surprised if Funny Girl closes before Into the Woods and then New York, New York goes to the August Wilson.

It's audio on Twitter. Since it was a concert, I don't know if it's technically a bootleg, so I won't post the link, but if you google "Katrina Lenk Last Midnight" it comes right up as a search result, under the Twitter account "Katrina Lenk Daily.""
thanks for sharing. it is, indeed, a phenomenal performance but i have to chuckle at how Katrina sounds positively Israeli when she sings, every time.
Does anyone know if Sara Bareilles was back in the show tonight? I can’t find anything on social media about it, so I’m assuming yes, since she’s previously announced when she was out.

I was under the impression Patti did not extend in Company b/c the mask mandate was removed - if that's the case she won't be coming back to the Broadway stage anytime soon.

I would love to know where you got that information aside from speculating and incorrect posters on this forum...

I mean, you were under that impression for no legitimate reason, but weren't you able to put two/two together and realize that she performed for the entire month of July without a mask mandate in place?

Um … she performed all of August and there was no mandate. AFAIK she also didn’t miss a show.
The Patti/Mask Mandate thing was just some semi-joking, offhand speculation that was thrown around on this message board, because the announcements came close together. It had no basis in fact, and I doubt any of the people who speculated it really believed it in earnest.
I was on the phone with SeatGeek and they said that Sara was scheduled til October 16th. I had to reschedule my tickets I still booked it before the original end date because i am waiting for it to be confirmed.

Mmm seems to be a big deal for Sondheim himself to accompany Katrina! And I suppose it’s no accident she ended up in Company. Frustrating that she was dismissed by some including the NYtimes. Katrina broke ground vocally and acting wise in Company and it seemed to go right over the head of some audiences and critics. Reminds me of the NYtimes review of the SITPWG OBC CD, which described Bernadette’s voice as an ‘average instrument’. Who are these people???
Perhaps part of the problem is when you try to bring a new sound to the stage some people don’t quite know how to react. I can’t think of many if anyone that has Katrina’s hypnotic, sultry voice. It worked in ‘The Band’s Visit’ I guess because the material hadn’t been heard any other way, but it seems to be an uphill battle for existing material. I hope Katrina gets another opportunity to do this again for a Sondheim show - her take on Mrs Lovett, for example, would have I think, been completely unique and different than any before. And yet it looks like we might be stuck with a safer choice.
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000

Can anyone actually confirm whether Patti was leaving the show as opposed to it just closing organically? When tickets were on sale there was nothing on telecharge that would suggest she was leaving after July 31st (including a casting TBC notice if they were waiting for an extension) and telecharge has been so diligent not to deceive people about when Patti is or is not scheduled to perform (including the day of). With good reason because they would end up having to refund people if they asked. Unless something changed last minute where Patti was unable to continue performing that hasn’t been made public I don’t believe the available information suggested she was going to be leaving July 31st.

Cheyenne Jackson posted an Instagram story saying “no one leaves for good,” so I wouldn’t be shocked to hear him coming back in, but he has the Mayim Bialik show to film. Maybe they have a certain amount of time off while she films Jeopardy and he can do it then.

I honestly would not put any stock into anything SeatGeek says.

Honestly? This.
Matt Doyle or Etai Benson could do Jack. Christopher Sieber or Manu Narayan could fit the Baker.
…and Jennifer Simard will win a special Tony for turning Jack’s Mother into a side-splitting, scene-stealing delight.
