Would love to see Simard play The Witch. She's long overdue for the chance to play a Broadway lead. I'm also very team Lenk for The Witch, although I think she would be a wonderful Baker's Wife too.
We never got to see Ashley Park’s Cinderella. I’d love to see her do a stint.
Although the stage managers and associate creative team etc. would be working around-the-clock, I think they could find a way to keep audience interest (and semi-celebrities’ interests) by doing these short engagements. Keep it open until Tony time, where you could reunite the opening cast for voters to see any nominated performances.

For which role? I honestly can't picture her in any of the roles. Her voice isn't strong enough for Cinderella or The Witch (she won't be right for latter anyway because of how young she reads on stage). Her Baker's Wife could be good but I genuinely don't think she would be a ticket seller, which is what this show needs allegedly.

Absolutely, I love this idea. I guess SNL starting soon would make this impossible, though."
Not necessarily. The reason why the SNL cast has gotten so big recently is because Lorne Michaels has allowed cast members to take on other projects outside of SNL. Last year, I think Cecily missed quite a few episodes to film Schmigadoon, as well as some episodes for “Search for Signs…” off Broadway

I’m sorry I wasn’t clear: I would think for the Baker’s Wife. She’s been out of the theater for so long and made (I think?) some popular inroads with her TV work, I would imagine she would be quite a popular choice. She was a fixture on CBS for a moment and that has to mean something for a big portion of the Broadway demographic. Speaking personally, I’d just love to heat her voice again on stage.
Cecily is currently shooting the 2nd season of Schmigadoon (as is Ann Harada which is why she couldn't move with the show) Older SNL players don't do the full season anymore - they have outs for other projects especially ones that Lorne Michaels is EP'ing.
Someone (maybe one of you guys lol!) has posted on Deuxmoi "from a credible source" that a leading lady someone from a recently closed Broadway show will be joining the cast of a current critically acclaimed revival from the same composer, so I'm wondering if this means Katrina Lenk will be joining ITW? It says this will be her redemption after being critically slammed in her last role,
I'm sure it was someone just repeating what they saw yesterday, either on here or on TikTok. Most of the deuxmoi "scoops" are old news by the time they show up there.

Yeah maybe - sorry, i hadn't read back far enough to see that KL was already being discussed. Also take a lot of what people post on deuxmoi with a massive grain of salt - its usually people stealing info from other sources or crazy fans making up cr*p about their rivals!
I wouldn’t say Lenk was “critically slammed.” There were some positive reviews, but yes, several were very mixed. But I agree, this could be a redemption performance in a sense, as the Witch is 100% in her wheelhouse. I don’t really trust Deuxmoi tips though.
