"It's great to know that Jonathan Tunick and Paul Gemignani worked on this film and I hope that Tunick could work on future adapations of Sondheim's musicals before he passes."
Damn, way to sour the mood, Debbie Downer.

Sooooooooo, we can all agree that this will win Best Orchestrations or whatever it is, right? Because holy crap!
This was a treat! Meryl Streep really surprised everyone. She sounds PERFECT. I'm not a huge fan of Anna, Chris, or James' voices in this, but everyone else sounds excellent. Also, Johnny sounds sexy as heck (like he sound), but I didn't like what they have done to Hello Little Girl.
I'm pre-oredering my music right now!

SO impressed with Meryl! "Last Midnight" blows me away!
I also really like "No One Is Alone" and "Moments in the Woods".

Wow. Just wow. The orchestrations are beyond anything I could have hoped for. And just those few seconds in the clip with The Bakers Wife at the end of the show have me crying.

If any of you can't access the samples on iTunes, I can give some links to some of the songs I recorded on my phone.

Agreed, the preview exceeded all of my expectations. The orchestrations are gorgeous and all of the vocalists are on point. I'm particularly impressed by Streep and the vocal choices she's made. This film is going to be stellar!

Oh gosh it sounds gorgeous! It's clear just from these clips that Emily Blunt and Meryl Streep deliver knockout performances. Also Lilla Crawford sounds as great as I'd expected she would.
I've gone from not wanting to listen to the soundtrack until I've seen the film to listening to 30 second clips at gone two in the morning two months before the film's released...

How was the music for the Transformation scene? Is it the same, or is it changed for the better (I'm hoping it sounds more epic)?

Add me to the camp of pleased and surprised. Much better then I expected. Vocals are quite nice, but those orchestrations! Lush and beautiful!

Do we know if Emmy Rossum was ever considered for Cinderella? I'm looking forward to Kendrick's performance, to be sure, but it just struck me that Rossum seems more of a Cinderella type and is certainly a talented actress and very fine singer.

I knew Meryl could carry a tune but that was eargasmic!

Showface - The transformation in the film is much longer. And yes it is much epic. It's different but it's definitely for the better. The orchestrations are beyond phenomal especially here.

^Thanks! I found the snippets of some of the music, but not all online...
In fact, I just finished listening to Stay With Me...the power from her voice is OFF. THE. CHARTS! "WHO OUT THEEERE!" blew me away, then she went to the "CAN. NOT! SUUUPPLY!", then I was just....words cannot describe...then she went back into the lullaby-like singing
Cannot wait for the samples to be released in the USA, and hopefully on Amazon as well...

Who is the narrator in the first number? I thought that no narrator in the movie...

It sounds like James Corden.

The narrator at the top of the movie is The Baker.

Thank you HorseTears for the information about the arranger!
"The Slipper Fits" sounds magical (I have to say, it does sound like it could be heavily affiliated with Disney in the future. It sounds like a theme song for the trademark), while "Cinderella Runs" and "The Transformation" are thrilling!

Streep is KILLING it. What a gem. Blunt sounds uncomfortable. Anna sounds great. Depp sounds flat. Streep is going to own this film. The "No More" instrumental had me in tears.
