He confirmed it on his twitter that he'll be playing the role of St. Jimmy from Sept28th-Oct 3rd. Not much notice/ time for advertising but I'd love to see this.
I'm thrilled. Actually considering taking a last-minute trip from Toronto that weekend. Although Billie Joe doesn't quite have the singing voice that Tony Vincent does, he's one hell of a performer in terms of energy and stage presence. I'd kill to see this. You'd think he'd want to rest between tours considering the high energy (over 3-hour) performance he's been putting out each night on tour.
This is pretty rockin' news!!! And a perfect reason for me to finally see it. Tuesday and Wednesday are currently on TDF (grabbed one). Get'em while they're hot, betchez!
Seeing it Wednesday night with a friend from STL. I've seen this show many times, but always with orchestra seats (mostly the partial view lotto loser tickets, but I've won the lotto once and paid for two other occasions with a discount code). Used a discount code in person this time, and the dude told me he had rear orchestra or mezz, and the mezz were better, so I took those and got E101-102. How's the view from there? I think it'd be pretty good that close in the mezz, but not sure....

I chose, and my world was shaken- So what? The choice may have been mistaken,
The choosing was not...

It was so much fun tonight. Of course, Billie Joe Armstrong got LOADS of applause. I hadn't seen the show before, and I'm not familiar with some of the music but I had a blast. And I thought Billie Joe Armstrong was amazing. So glad I waited to see this! Oh, and I had no idea Stark Sands was such a great singer!
"What a mystery this world. One day you love them and the next day you want to kill them a thousand times over." The Masked Bandit in THE FALL
I was there tonight in the balcony, which seemed to be about 95% full, hard to tell about the mezz and orchestra, but from the sound of the audience, probably pretty full as well?
I had seen AI once closer to when it opened, but I don't know it well enough to say if Billie Joe missed a line or a dance, but he definitely brought the energy and sounded amazing! The audience was loving it - huge applause for the start of the show, every time he was on stage, and two standing ovations at the end, around the 'Good Riddance' curtain call. They gave the full first lyric line of the curtain call to Billie Joe alone, can't remember if the whole group usually sings together from the start? Everyone and their brother had a camera out for that, so I imagine it'll end up on youtube sooner than later
I was a little disappointed that they didn't put slips in the playbills saying he was on for Tony Vincent, but once again, huge applause when they made the PA announcement right before the show started.
Overall, since I like the music and think the show is fun (even without much of a plot), it was really great to see it with Billie Joe actually on stage with the cast
I'm glad to hear it was awesome. I just got my tickets for Saturday afternoon. The telecharge lady said they didn't have much left. I've been a Green Day fan since I was 10, so I am totally excited to get the chance to see Billie Joe's Broadway debut. Updated On: 9/29/10 at 12:13 AM
This show is going to make a nice buck this week. Could they bring him back sometime in the winter for a short engagement(if it lasts that long).
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
Question: Does Billie Joe wear that white jacket he did during "Good Riddance" through the whole show, or does he wear the same outfit as Tony Vincent?
I don't know what Tony Vincent usually wears, but I don't think Billie Joe had the jacket on for the whole show. I think he might have worn it for one or two parts. I thought he was wearing a vest for a song maybe?
He also has the t-shirt with the heart crossed out,and he does the taking off the shirt bit to draw on his chest during the Death of St. Jimmy.
