Well, there are at least two of us."
Three.
She was cringe during her bit at the globes last night.
They’re gonna need a really big name for Che.

Four. Somewhere, there is a video of her singing “Wizard and I” and she’s pitchy and winded. I can’t even imagine her trying to handle the Evita score.

There are quite a few more than just 3 people who find her insufferable. If Sutton is the luckiest ensemble member, Ariana is the second-luckiest. I'd say she's gained the outsized most from her proximity to Hamilton than much of the original cast.
She will not sound good on this score. What are they thinking?

If you choose to dislike someone because they were awkward while presenting at the Golden Globes, I have bad news about everyone who has ever presented at the Golden Globes...
Even Catherine O'Hara couldn't make her bit with Seth Rogen work all that well last night.
The only saving grace is if she is cast in the role I will not need to spend money on airfare and hotel in London.

That's not the sole reason why I also find her "meh".
Just sharing my thoughts from last night.
It just feels like she’s being forced on us rather than just being someone we want to see.

I wish it was someone like Danna Paola-insane singing voice, gorgeous, experiencing a resurgence due to dubbing Cynthia in the Spanish translations for the Wicked movie, and also quite famous in Mexico/Spanish speaking countries in her own right. This could launch her career even further. No matter how well designed and directed the production may end up being, I can't imagine it succeeding with Ariana (DeBose, not Grande-she'd be fabulous). And I'm a big fan of Ariana-this is not her role.

We will.
Why can’t we have Ariana Grande??

I personally think it's the perfect role for her and would be one of the major theatrical events of the century-but she's not latine, and I'm not sure she'd want to put herself in that situation (though ironically, she's probably ethnically closer to Eva than most of the women who have played her due to her Mediterranean heritage). I'd love Lea Michele too, who is also probably not far off from the real Eva's background, but I doubt she'd do it for similar reasons.

...Ariana Debose has been very vocal about being Afro-Latina as her father is 100% Puerto Rican...

Sorry, I was referring to Ariana Grande, not DeBose. My bad!

I was *quite* confused lollllll. But yes, Ariana Grande would be great in the role performance-wise, but wrong altogether for other reasons.

Wasn't Rachel Zegler considered for this part last year...the year before? I saw a video of her on YT singing Don't Cry for me Argentina and she was great. Of course, there is the acting element...and the publicity element.

Zegler was meant to do the Sammi Cannold production on Broadway but the transfer fell through.

Eva Peron did the thing

So the ubiquitous Ariana DeBose is the London Eva? I am really tired of her.

I'll keep hoping one day for Lady Gaga to star in Evita. If she ever did Broadway, this would be a perfect role for her.

Not surprising, the production/direction wasn't very good.
I’m pro-Lloyd but she is such a weird chose for this role. Of all the roles she could be playing right now…..

She would be perfect but it will never happen. The Madonna comparisons would be brutal.

But she will dance the **** out of Buenos Aires 🤷♀️
Idk I can slightly see the vision. I think people give her a bad wrap. She is still incredibly talented.
