Go Jessie! Go Jessie! Go Jessie!
Can. Not. Wait. Obviously.
I'm happy that she keeps getting work but I'm never going to understand this fascination people have with her
That's cool. Maybe you will when you see her originate her first starring role in a new musical after only being in the New York theatre scene for 2 years.
I'll be in my corner trying not to squeal and embarrass myself more than usual.
It's good exposure for her. I think someone ought to write a NEW show for her, but playing Carole King will likely get her more national attention.
I was content to live happily with my copy of TAPESTRY and never see this show, but now I probably will.
This woman is unstoppable. So excited for this!!
That's a long-ass preview period yah? First preview is November 21 and opening night is January 12?
There's also not a lot of time between SF and Broadway. I'm glad they're confident!
Can't wait to hear who's in the rest of the cast.

Yes! So happy about this. Jessie Mueller is not only a naturally talented young lady, she is hardworking, intelligent and NICE. She can play almost anything and can sing circles around even more seasoned performers. I was hoping she'd find another role to get her back on Broadway....and I love Carole King. Can't wait to hear Jessie doing these songs.
Maybe some Broadway fans can't relate to Jessie BECAUSE she's a regular girl, not an overacting snob with a diva attitude. Or maybe they can't recognize real talent like the rest of the Chicago and New York casting people can.
I am dying of excitement right now.
Wow, Jessie Mueller's ascend reminds me of Kristin Chenoweth, Audra McDonald and Donna Murphy. Good for her, so exciting to see a bonafide star in the making.

I still melt when I recall her breathtakingly gorgeous rendition and interpretation of "Mister Snow." God, that was beautiful.
Had already set a reminder for the SF Ticket sales that go live this Friday. May not be the final "Broadway" version of the show--but will get to hear Jessie sing Carole's Songbook. SUPER STOKED!!
:) Saw her sing "Ev'ry Night at Seven" and knew she was gonna be a star. It's been so amazing to watch her star rise. Based on everything I've heard about the show and the role, I have a feeling this is going to be a very big deal for her.

Not that you'll necessarily disclose this, Kelly, but are you just a devoted fan or is there a personal connection there? Admire your devotion to Jessie! It's wonderful!
I would identify myself as a very excitable fan. Sometimes you just really connect with a performer's talent and style and she's the real deal.

Agree completely. She was wonderful. I'm happy she has a new show in the works but my first thought is that she has much better vocal chops than this show's music will require.
Interesting casting.
Not a super fan but hopefully she'll wow me in this.
Singing Carole's music is not easy. norma.
NATURAL WOMAN!
My daughter and I are super excited. We will add this show to our NYC trip agenda during her winter school break. I, quite by accident, have seen her in every one of her productions...On A Clear Day, Drood, Into the Woods, Carousel, and Nice Work. She is really a remarkable performer.
Jessie has a much better voice than Carole! I am a big fan of both the material and the singer, having seen her recently in Drood and Nice Work. I wasn't planning on seeing this, but I'm reconsidering.

I beg to differ macny.
King's voice is unique and iconic.

To be fair, though, King is a legendary composer. She's not a legendary vocalist. Not that Jessie is... But I think we could all agree that King is not necessarily known for her vocal talents even though I'm a huge fan. It's just the truth.
I could not be more excited for this. Jessie is perfect casting. Can't wait to see who else is cast! I wish it wasn't at the Sondheim but I'll live.
King IS a legendary vocalist, oount her hits and albums.
And I don't see Mueller as "perfect" casting. I've never heard her sing any rock. Obviously, she can, they cast her but that's not what she's none for.
