Man, I thought this would run for years off Broadway like Avenue Q. Did it even last six months? Damn.

It wasn't selling well at all.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Sad, but I hope Cyndi now puts all her effort into making the Working Girl musical happen.

Just makes you think why it was brought back.

This show has been everywhere. Regional and amateur. It has played out.

The material isn’t as good as Avenue Q or Little Shop. But I would have put money this would run for awhile.

Who would have thought the Yiddish Fiddler would run longer.

One doesn't really have anything to do with the other. The only effort it was taking for KINKY BOOTS was endorsing the royalty checks for deposit.

I adore Kinky Boots, saw it multiple times on Broadway…and I just realized I have yet to see it off-Broadway.

This revival was just too soon. It’s being played regionally, they filmed and released the West End production, I think people are just Boots’ed out.

The hubris of Daryl Roth, Hal Luftig, and their investors. They thought their show could find a sustainable audience at ~500 people per night, but evidently not. Hal produced Yiddish Fiddler, and while that was never a sellout hit, he probably felt Kinky Boots had some more life left --- when in reality we know it struggled for its final year on Bway, buoyed by stunt casting. Sometimes momentum is just lost.

Waitress was just on Broadway last year. Isn't that too soon?

The idea is to work and to experiment. Some things will be creatively successful, some things will succeed at the box office, and some things will only - which is the biggest only - teach you things that see the future. And they're probably as valuable as any of your successes. -Harold Prince

I think thats right, and this clearly was a misfire of an idea from the start. But feels so unfair to Callum Francis, who is so phenomenal in the role, and who only got to do it on Bway for a month or two. If you haven't seen him, go. Hes worth it.

There was a random post a while back that the stripped down phantom was going to stage 42 after KB left

I think the Phantom thing was just a rumor. I don't see them not reopening it on Broadway.

Waitress might do well, but with the regional rights going up in the next year, I'd think everywhere will be doing it.

I wish Stage 42 could have a hit though. I think it's a fantastic little space.

Sales must have been really dismal for them to close right before one of the most lucrative times of the year.

True, but he also led both the West End and Australian tour casts, so he’s been able to get out in front of more audiences than your usual replacement.

Think about that. Kinky Boots, Strange Loop. Do you think it'd have an audience at Stage 42? Or would it just open there, and then lose money as it has been ON Broadway?

KINKY BOOTS to close Off-Broadway

I thought it was a big mistake opening the show so soon after closing on B'way. IT was too soon, and will probably result in a delayed revival that may have occurred in 15 or so years. 'Why would I invest in a show that was a flop off-Broadway the last time it was around? I think it is one thing to move to off-Broadway...it is another thing to open off-Broadway and flop.
