I always thought Phantom should close soon, but not like this
Can't wait to see The Likes of Us up on Kickstarter!
So what does this mean for his own company?

My question exactly.

Bizarre. But I'd expect no less from ALW.

Isn't this one of the signs of the apocalypse?
Soon YOU can help subsidize the onstage orchestra at the Sunset Boulevard revival!

Lol
Webber is either losing his acumen or looking for a patsy. We'll see what happens, and figure it out accordingly. Either way, my vote is giving Ken this much access to power and money ends with Drabinsky-level behavior.
Webber was my entry level music, that got me hooked on musicals, I still hold some of his stuff in very high regard, however I admit he is a god awful producer.
I think they should change the name of the company to "Really Crowdsourced Group".
Will Glenn be up on the stage of the Palace alone with no orchestra to back her if we don't meet the fundraising goal?
The fundraising goal will be met- a bunch of 11th hour donors will suddenly appear.
All of the 11th hours donations will be from ALW under different screen names

Welp, guess we now know that Davenport's company (and many random ventures) wasn't making any profit and/or wasn't financially viable. I never worked with him, but heard his office was like a sweatshop. So he took a gig to pay the bill(s)...collectors.

Granted, non of Davenport's ideas and methods have proven successful but I imagine Really Useful likes the idea of "new/modern" ways to approach theatre like crowdsourcing and tweet seats.
This thread is a gold mine of bad puns at both men's expenses. Is that what they call taking down the patriarchy in the performing arts? Lol

What's next? The Film version of Merrily we Roll Along being directed by M. Night Shyamalan?
Shymalan plot twist: THE MOVIE HAS BEEN GOING BACKWARD THE ENTIRE TIME.

Plot Twist: Charley and Mary were dead the whole time.
ALW probably considered many other producers, but they're all too busy actually producing new and other shows...
This thread is so salty I'm going to have to go on hypertension medication. Good job, everyone!
