Broadway this fall! JACK ANTANOFF is involved? Yeah, this will sell out faster than Tom Holland's R+J!
The idea is to work and to experiment. Some things will be creatively successful, some things will succeed at the box office, and some things will only - which is the biggest only - teach you things that see the future. And they're probably as valuable as any of your successes. -Harold Prince
I wonder when they'll officially confirm this because apart from this website, no other reputable news site has confirmed the Patti Lupon/Mia Farrow production
If the website is already launched; the actors are following the production’s social media accounts; and they’re posting teasers to their respective socials, I’d imagine an announcement is imminent. Probably today or sometime this week.
This and the possibility of Tom Hollands R+J transferring will mean two competing productions in the same season. Has that ever happened before?

I've heard that's not happening anymore, so it will just be this production

It’s kinda of funny and cool that both Kit and Joe will have made their Broadway debuts in the same year by the time this opens. Depending on when this opens, I wonder how much press Kit is going to do for season 3 of Heartstopper. I definitely see this closing in January before Rachel starts having to do press for Snow White.
on paper, I don't know if this is going to set the box office on fire. Kit Connor is a "who," and Zegler would probably be a much bigger draw in a musical than a play.
The Antonoff/Tayeh connection is the big unknown, because if this resembles a musical (characters singing and angsty dancing -- whether to new Antonoff songs or famous ones), that could help but not until they have b-roll.
Strange. Looks like Broadway will not be getting either of my preferred revivals then. Was hoping for the Tom Holland R+J and was hoping for the Sara Brightman Sunset Boulevard. Unless they’d consider coming in the following season which would seem tight
The Brightman Sunset was never going to transfer to Broadway.
I also wouldn’t underestimate the draw of Kit Connor. He may not be the current Spider-Man, but he is immensely popular especially with younger crowds. Putting him in a classic play may be a good way to get parents to shell out for tickets without feeling like they’re seeing a teenybopper show.
"...everyone finally shut up, and the audience could enjoy the beginning of the Anatevka Pogram in peace."

Sometimes things are just one offs and it does not mean that they will transfer to Broadway. That is never a given. And it makes it special! Sometimes there are shows that could obviously be Broadway bound, but Sarah Brightman Sunset? Nah. Also like Here We Are at The Shed off-Broadway. It was a very special one time engagement. Does not mean it's Broadway bound any time soon.
I agree the chances of a Tom holland production transferring now seem more questionable. But honestly I think these two productions could be running concurrently and Tom holland would still sell every seat at full price. Feels more distasteful than financially risky to have both.
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000
