If you're referring to me, I guess I shouldn't have. I never realize these are from heat street until after I click on them. They're so stupid.
For what it's worth, Heat Street's founder is Louise Mensch, and isn't she friends with Lin?
ChiTheaterFan, no one's making an effort to hide the URL, so what's the problem?

Oh for real? News to me. I'm not disputing July, I'm just saying they're not a good theater news source.

No real problem. Just when you call something click bait and then post it for people to click on, I can see why that's weird. :)

Interesting!! That the show opened previews the day after his death. Coincidence? Perhaps. Planned? Maybe.

I'm pretty sure he's leaving July 10th, from what I've heard from people who know him.

But if the show started previews July 13, and the contracts are for one year, doesn't that take everyone generally to the following July 13 - at a minimum? Perhaps they opt to go a bit longer to end on a weekend, or what have you...??

I'd guess he will leave the next time somebody asks yet again when he is leaving? :)

In that case, a year would be July 13, 2015 -July 12, 2016

In the Jeffrey Seller NYT article, they said the contract was 52 weeks, which would mean that July 9th would be his last show (as I believe there is no Sunday show?)

Out of curiosity, I checked ticket prices for 7/9. Holy crap. A few people are banking on this being the OBC last show.
when you guys mention the cast has a year contract are you saying the main cast or everyone? Because many of the ensemble members and Jon groff have already left. So I wouldn't take this one year contract thing too seriously. You never know if Renee will leave a week earlier or if Daveed extend another six months.

Equity Ensemble contracts are set up so that the ensemble members can leave whenever they like, as long as they give proper notice, typically three weeks. Principle contracts have a set end date, and while they all would expire (if the actors/production choose not to renew them) presumably on the same day, it's possible that someone has a slightly different contract due to prior commitments or something like that. Most of them probably have extended, but until they announce it either way for each actor, there's no way to know.

I just looked, those are the same prices as any Saturday night show. It's pretty insane
I saw a few tickets being sold for $5000, which is insane.

Yes. But "for sale" for $5000, and actually finding someome who will pay that amount is a very different thing. Still, it's a pretty amazing number.

Tickets aren't even dropping close to showtime anymore, at least not good seats. Most of them are gone well before showtime. Tickets are selling for $2500+ easy

Principle contracts are traditionally for a year. Groff mentioned in the interview with Vulture he would be leaving in July because that was when his contract ended. However, he had an out clause which allowed him to leave early.
Lin leaving July 9th seems like a good guess. I've seen the show twice and both times Javier was on as Hamilton. I most likely won't get a chance to see Lin.
Wondering if Leslie will be leaving in July since he has a show in CA on July 23rd. Unless it was a predetermined day off.
I think the cast departures (at least the ones that are leaving) will be spread out over the summer. Makes no sense for everybody to just leave at once.

Leslie is for sure gone in July. I think he confirmed it somewhere. Is pursuing his solo career. Chris Jackson has intimated he's staying around. I can't imagine they want the whole OBC to leave at once. Maybe they'll stagger them over a few months
I keep thinking maybe, just maybe the next post on this thread will be an actual, concrete piece of information rather than continued speculation. And yet it never is.

I'm not sure why they haven't said anything. It's not like it's going to affect ticket sales. Maybe after the Tony's

Is Chris Jackson's show 'Bull' shooting in NY? I haven't heard any news besides the pilot being picked up. If it's shooting someplace other than NY, my guess is he is leaving as well.

When there is concrete information in here, there will also be a headline on the front page.

Sunday evening's show had Row O towards the right side selling for $600-$750. 3 folks next to us had each bought those singles on Stubhub during the afternoon
Contracts are up July 9th, according to a cast member I know.
