If Friday is your first time seeing it live, I'd recommend not listening any more... why not see this stuff happen for the first time with those people singing it directly to you live?!
mpd4165's probably referring to Friday being the official release of the digital album, not seeing the show live. In either case, I definitely agree with waiting until after you've seen it live if feasible.
I listened to much of the first act on my morning commute- it sounds fantastic. I've been eager to revisit this score since I saw the production back in February.
"...everyone finally shut up, and the audience could enjoy the beginning of the Anatevka Pogram in peace."
OHMYGOODNESS. Thank you so much! I nearly cried with joy.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Haterobics, you're right, Friday is when I will see the show for the first time. I think I'm trying to be careful and not expose myself to more than what I've already been exposed to, but the temptation is STRONG.
Wow this is a great way to start the week ... it's making being back in the office less painful on a Monday morning! I've seen Hamilton once, in late July, and I've been waiting impatiently for this since then. Listening just now I feel transported back to the theatre. Good stuff.
Btw in multiple threads there are people asking about listening to this before seeing the show and I recommend holding out on listening if you can. I think it's much more powerful to experience it live first. Of course if you've got a long wait I totally understand wanting to hear it now!
I know I'm in the minority, but this show does nothing for me. I've listened to the cast recording and watched the trailers, but it still fails to interest me.
Well, I know what I'm listening to at work today. Loved the show.
Is anyone else thrown by hearing the first song sung by someone other than LMM at the White House poetry jam, ie the only video that's been available on YouTube for a while?
Also, I'm torn. What do you think: Should people who might eventually see Hamilton listen to the recording? Does only listening to the audio do the show justice?
