I've spent more time listening to this stream then I have listened to anything in a long time. I'm having fun listening to things multiple times to really analyze the lyrics and get the message. It's overwhelming in the most delightful way possible--I feel like I'm at a five star restaurant.
The song that has surprised me the most is One Last Time. I really enjoyed it at the Public, but was a bit disappointed over the change from "One Last Ride" to "One Last Time" initially. It's totally grown on me now...the part where Hamilton and Washington are singing Washington's actual farewell address going into the "George Washinton's going home" just moves me. It just feels so honest and raw and combined with how it's staged, it's very moving.
I'm also delighted beyond belief that my students start studying the American Revolution on Monday and I have some great new supplemental material this year. They'll be hearing "Here Comes the General" very soon.
