Yeah, it SUCKS when artists are influenced by what came before.
I've spent more time listening to this stream then I have listened to anything in a long time. I'm having fun listening to things multiple times to really analyze the lyrics and get the message. It's overwhelming in the most delightful way possible--I feel like I'm at a five star restaurant.
The song that has surprised me the most is One Last Time. I really enjoyed it at the Public, but was a bit disappointed over the change from "One Last Ride" to "One Last Time" initially. It's totally grown on me now...the part where Hamilton and Washington are singing Washington's actual farewell address going into the "George Washinton's going home" just moves me. It just feels so honest and raw and combined with how it's staged, it's very moving.
I'm also delighted beyond belief that my students start studying the American Revolution on Monday and I have some great new supplemental material this year. They'll be hearing "Here Comes the General" very soon.

Someone listened to Hamilton and only found one reference?!
Last time I saw Hamilton was Javier's first Bway show, and during "Washington On Your Side", Jefferson's last line was "It's nice to have something to really oppose". In the OBCR, it's now "The Emperor has no clothes". Does anyone know when that lyric was changed?

Has anyone not in the eastern time zone tried downloading? Everyone is tweeting about an early release and downloading it now but mine still just says preordered.
Mine is working and has been for about 20 minutes!
I'm on the west coast and it's downloading just fine.

Did you try "Check for available downloads" under Store?
I'm listening to it through on iTunes right now and it somehow sounds even crisper than it did on NPR. Holy BANANAS.

I'm in Chicago and it came through at 10 pm...

It was only 128kbps on npr so it's not that crazy for the iTunes version to sound better at 256.

Ooh, thanks for filling me in on that! I know literally nothing about audio terminology and specifics, so that's really helpful

Is listening the correct term? I just want to make sure we're all using the most active term possible.

It says it was "Mastered for iTunes" whatever that means.

I don't get this new Apple Music situation. I don't see that option. I tried downloads and it says no active downloads. I tried purchased and it's not there but it says purchased when I look at the album. Ugh!!!

I'm on my iPhone. I'm not on a computer. On the iPhone the iTunes app is combined with Apple Music. It's just music. And I tried iTunes Store but it's not there.

If anyone else is having this problem, I ended up having to sign into iTunes in my computer, find my preorders in my account, cancel the preorder, and then just buy it. Despite having gone from "pre-ordered" to "purchased" on iTunes it was not available for download anywhere, including in available downloads on my desktop.
Infuriating but I have it now. I guess I'll never preorder anything on iTunes again. Oh well I have it now!

Pretty impressive that it is already in the top 10 on iTunes albums chart.
