Mezzo, it is hilarious to see you speak about somebody else’s arrogance. Look in the mirror, babe. Critical thinking isn’t your strong suit, huh?

The feeling of arrogance and misery in this board is nothing more than intriguing to read. You guys make boring days much better with whatever decides to come out of your keyboard or speech to text.
Please, never change.
Also,
YEAAAAAAAA OCTET!!! THIS'LL MAKE A DAVEMALLION DOLLARS AT THE BOX OFFICE!!! YEAAAAA!!! MUSICAL THEATRE FOR THE WIN!!!
okay, I've been obnoxious enough today, time to go do something productive with my life.

Holy sh*t. That's one of the most stacked casts for a movie I've seen in a long time. This is going to be one for the ages.

Oh my god. Oh. My. God.

When the news came out, I was fully prepared for this to be one of those things that's announced that never actually materializes into anything (like the Thomas Kail-directed Fiddler remake). Now, it's looking likely that we'll have the movie by the end of next year at the latest.

With Fiddler, that announcement came at a time when MGM was trying to get bought so they announced a flurry of projects based on their own IP to make themselves look viable. Such as the modern Porgy & Bess remake produced by Irwin Winkler.
With this, it was announced as an independent production with a list of big-money financiers already in place. If there was any financing gap to fill, they probably closed it in 48 hours (same with any open talent deals).

I agree with what ErmengardeStopSniveling said earlier in that I can see this being a Sundance premiere.

Yeah I imagine this won't take long to film. One location, not very long. Imagine this thing will be filmed and through pst relatively quickly, it's more distribution then

Nicholas Edwards is only scheduled to be covering for Paul-Jordan Jansen in the &Juliet tour until June 14th; Probably a good bet for how long production on this is supposed to last.

Insane cast, cannot wait.

I'm fairly certain I've never used this phrase before but it seems to fit: I am gagged.

Films of this size are generally on a tight film schedule, not to mention that this is a crew of very booked and busy people. But there is a near 0% chance this is limited to a single unit set. At the very least, we’ll for sure see them in a forest.

You'll notice Lin cast mostly PoC here.
I'm sure people will accept this without raging out...

Oh man, the only downside to this is I got tickets to &Juliet in Chicago August for my sister and I raved to her specifically about Jansen. He is absolutely hilarious in &Juliet.
But I am glad to see him getting bigger recognition, he's great.

Presumably, PJJ should be back in the show by the Chicago engagement.

Rehearse for 2 weeks, then record all the songs, then film for 5-6 weeks would seem logical. 25-40 filming days, with reshoots built in a few months from now.
KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN reportedly had 41 days of shooting and IF I HAD LEGS I’D KICK YOU had 27 days. Compared to Spidey, this will probably be more modest in scale due to lack of dance numbers and locations.

...Nobody even commented on this before you. The original off-Broadway cast was also largely POC, anyway.

I don't expect anyone to be mad about that here but white grievance is at an all time high in America. So you never know.

Fingers crossed! He's a delight. I'm sure Edwards would be great too, if filming runs over or he gets called back for reshoots.

Absolutely incredible cast, I cannot wait for this! So curious to see how LMM adapts it.
