It's not the full show ... just three songs. And they don't even do it in costume, haha.
And according to a couple of people I know who went to the show tonight, Kevin was not Mookie. Unless he was Mookie at the matinee and covered for Joberg at night? I'm all confused now.
I DID see Kevin go on as Mookie once. It was bizzare, yet pretty amusing.
I'm wondering whether it will be Laura or Tina tomorrow. I'm hoping for the former.
Woohoo! Post 600. Haha, sorry.
Do you mean on at Bryant Park? I really don't know. It's a complete toss up with me as to who it'll be, Laura or Tina. And I got confirmation that Kevin will be there... just not performing as Robbie. Blah. LOL
I don't know how the mixup started, but the insert in the Playbills said that Kevin was going to be Mookie. Both the board and the pre-show announcement posted the correction :)
Last night was my first time seeing Tina -- WOW. I absolutely adored her!
Walt - how was Eric LaJuan Summers as George?
Um, I really missed Kevin Cahoon. :)
That bad?
It wasn't bad... it just wasn't very funny.
Eric seemed like he was doing Kevin as George, just like Nicolette, at least in my opinion, seemed to be doing Felicia, whereas, again, in my opinion, Felicia is playing Linda. BUT, Tina is her own original Julia.
Agreed. Just... the things that are hilarious about Cahoon's George are because he is SO good at the physical comedic part of that role. He's very comfortable in his own skin, and it shows. It seemed to me like Eric was overdoing it, and hadn't put much thought into the acting process for that particular role.
Tina's Julia was so different. Much more what I was looking for in the role.
I'm reading that Making it on Broadway book right now, and looking over the post above me... it makes me wish more people would just do their own thing. Change it up at least a little, you know? That doesn't seem to be a problem with this show thus far - plenty of people throw in small ad libs, or make characters their own. Why doesn't everyone?

I can't wait to see it again, with any understudy! i don't care, when you have such a great upbeat show, the show is the star. I'd see it with anyone, even if Hilary Duff takes over the lead(which ain't happening) LOL!!!

I so wanna be there, I can't even tell you. It will be the best Broadway at Bryant Park EVER!!!
Bryant Park was VERY fun. About half the cast did IYWD, and then Stephen and Tina sang "Wanna Grow Old..." and Amy sang "Right in Front..."
please tell me that someone was recording the Bryant Park stint...sorry I am so obsessed with this show!
Amy!!! *fainting*
Bryant Park was so AMAZING! The crowd loved the set, Stephen and Tina were so cute together and Amy truly shines when she sings that song!
I also caught the show last night again, I LOVE being here in NYC for the summer! The entire cast was full of energy, and I enjoyed the understudies too.
There were bunches of Tina fans in the park, was muscle and Phantom2 there?!?!
*cries* Please tell me SOMEONE recorded it.
Haha, oh my God, you people. I've said like, 3 or 4 times already that a friend of mine was recording today's performance at Bryant Park. :p And she did. I'll get it to you as soon as I can.
Anyone take pictures?
I saw LOTS of video cameras in the crowd, so fear not.
did someone ask for right on time lyrics?
Goodnight
Then dial tone
Should I worry
Well hold the phone
A lost connection won’t stand in our way
So everything’s okay
I know it comes as no surprise
I overthink
Overanalyze
I know you’re busy
And that’s the bottom line
So everything is fine
And though it seems we’re moving slow
Without a doubt, deep inside I know we’re
Right on time
Well, more or less
When I lose faith
I keep repeating
Right on time
Why second guess our love
When you and I are right on time
It seems I’m stuck just moving plates
The world goes on
The waitress waits
But it won’t matter if you call again
Not if, I mean when
And seeing how some couples live
I’m downright positive
We’re right on time
At least, I think
You’re hot and cold
But getting warmer
Right on time
But on the brink, I’m sure
We’re kind of, sort of, close- ish
Right on time
Now I could look for hidden signs
Or try to read between the lines
But do I really want to hold my dying breath
It might be better just to say instead
We’re right on time
We’re next on deck
Yes that’s my line
I’m stickin’ to it
Right on time
And so I _____ and if
We’re so close, we’re almost peaking
If you know, we’re roughly speaking
Still, we’ll head right down the aisle
Or hello, I’m in denial
The times you’re noncommital
If I give and take a little
We are right (ish) on time!
i'm pretty sure those are right!
the crowd loved them today! I love their energy. This is such a fun show and I hope today's performance recruits people to see the show.
