Maybe they do! This is just news to me.

Yes. If I see a better seat open up for the same price or lower, I’ve found it easier to just get a refund and then buy that other seat.

From checking Telecharge, it looks like all sales are final (no refunds or exchanges) for performances *after* April 30th, 2022.

Ah! I didn't know Telecharge made it so easy.

We had a bit of a COVID scare before our Clyde's performance and Second Stage gave a little bit of a hassle.

Actually, I’ve had to refund/exchange a few things for June and July without issue from Telecharge. I think the wording isn’t clear, but ultimately means no more refunds/exchanges after April 30 (even though prevovid they did allow exchanges). The refund/exchange button doesn’t exist on my Telecharge account so I have to email in each time I need to refund a show.

This industry is all about relationships. Daniel Craig worked with Sam Gold back in 2016 on the off-Bway production of Othello that was excellent. Perhaps for the actors it is working but from an average theatergoer’s point of view as seen on this board and reddit, there’s a lot of confusion and headaches.

For me, the only positives are the acting of Daniel Craig, Ruth Negga, and Amber Gray. They’re all doing their best and am rooting for them.

As someone who has been in some clunkers, it can still be exciting or fun for the actors and hard to see the scope.

I mean, for the prices their charging I'd assume it's to see Craig and not some big splashy production.

Has anyone tried rush? If so, where are the seats? Was the rush line long when BO opened?

Hot merch though! Love creative merchandise and not cookie cutter boring (like a black sweatshirt that says The Music Man) Ugh.

I rushed Macbeth on Wednesday, March 30, for the 8 pm show. I arrived at 7:30 am and was second in line - the man ahead of me arrived at 6 am. When the box office opened at 10, there were ten people in line. I believe there were 14 rush tickets available that day, but it will vary. The tickets given to me were partial view in the balcony, but I was given two new seats in the orchestra (row P) when I arrived and was seated next to the creative team (which was cool). The new seats were great! Not sure if it was a fluke that I received the two new seats.

I really enjoyed the show. Ruth Negga was wonderful. Curious how the rush line will grow over the weeks!

You might be the first person to say they liked the production. Looking for a reason to keep my tickets. Would love to hear some specifics. What exactly did you enjoy?

Show was canceled tonight just before it was about to begin due to a positive Covid test and sent everyone home.  Sam Gold, Daniel Craig and Ruth Negga came on stage to break the news but people were not happy.  My friend was there and I told them it was a blessing in disguise and to take the refund and run far away from that theater.

Someone must’ve said the name of the play inside the Longacre tonight…

Does anyone like this play? Seriously. I’ve searched online for a single positive review and can’t find one. Can it really be that bad?

Munsieek stated they enjoyed the production. Note though that originally they had a balcony partial view rush seat and then got a free upgrade to center orchestra seats next to creative team so that may have influenced their overall decision.

I'm guessing today's performances will be sold out sold out since they canceled last night's performance. When I watched the first preview, I recall noticing a good number of people in the audience had British accents. I spoke to two ladies while waiting in the merch line and they told me they both travelled from the UK to NYC just to see Daniel Craig perform live!

We don't know the actor who tested positive last night but obviously it wasn't Daniel Craig and Ruth Negga. I wonder if at the very least a reading of the play would have sufficed their fans (especially those who travelled overseas to see this play) to not get a refund and enjoy the special performance. Since that was the 4th preview, I understand how the understudy wasn't ready yet since the actor who was out probably performed multiple minor roles. In addition, there's a good number of dark/blackout scenes where it can be dangerous for someone like an understudy who memorized the lines but doesn't exactly know where to go onstage.

I personally enjoyed the acting performances of both leads Daniel Craig and Ruth Negga. Amber Gray performing as Banquo was also a standout for me. It's the scenic/lighting/costume design and directing that confused me.

I agree with Wick3's comments above, and will add that I hope Sam Gold reassesses and perhaps completely rethinks the closing moments. Truthfully, none of his choices are especially good but the play has earned its place as one for the ages and the actors are doing strong work as early as two previews into the run.

The Macbeth IG posted about the cancelation of the show. The comments were both incentive and entitled. I was shocked with some of the them.. I can't find it now so maybe the poster deleted it be wrote something along the lines of "I paid money to see this and I can't believe you canceled with that little notice". Obviously no one wants to cancel a show but as long as the covid protocols are still in place, they have to follow them. Also too, I would rather a canceled show vs. an understudy who hasn't had proper rehearsal go on and risk getting hurt.

People in general could try and be more kind and understanding, but I'm not sure how much the average theatregoer knows about COVID protocols and when decisions about performances can rightfully be made.

That's true. During previews wouldn't there be rehearsals during the day so actors will learn which scenes/lines were cut or changed? I would think the actors would have gotten tested upon arrival at the theater for rehearsal in the afternoon so wouldn't the producers know the actor was positive well before walk-in at 7pm? Rapid test results normally take 15-20mins.

I went to the 4th preview of Music Man back in December and Sutton Foster was out but the understudy Kathy Voytko was able to perform mainly because they knew by 12pm that Sutton was positive and they had 6-7 hours to rehearse with Voytko so she could safely perform.

Regardless, I understand safety first and for the safety of the cast, it was best to cancel last night's performance.

Daniel Craig tested positive this morning. Both shows today are cancelled.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

So that’s closed down for at least a week then. Sounds like a lucky escape for audiences.

The conspiracy theory in me wonders if it’s actually Covid…or if the show truly is in that rough or shape that they want to use time to overhaul.

I had the same thought. Although does word of mouth or reviews matter since it's a very limited run with a huge movie star? I don't have any knowledge of how well-sold the run is, I just assumed it was close to sold out?
